
<p>Strong tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday morning. However, no reports of casualties or damage have emerged so far. According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors were felt at 6 am, with the epicentre located in Faridabad, Haryana. This 3.2 magnitude earthquake had a depth of 5 kilometres below the surface, at 72.21 degrees East longitude and 28.29 degrees North latitude.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Second incident in the last week</h2>



<p>This is the second instance of tremors felt in the national capital, Delhi, in the last week. Earlier, tremors of 4.4 magnitude were felt on Friday, 11 July, and the day before, Thursday, 10 July, at 9:04 am. This was the third instance of tremors felt in Delhi this month. However, the magnitude of all three earthquakes was moderate, and no casualties have been reported.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why so many earthquakes in Delhi?</h2>



<p>The frequent tremors have caused concern among the residents. People are frightened and run out of their homes when they feel these sudden jolts. Delhi&#8217;s proximity to the Himalayas is a contributing factor. The collision of tectonic plates, such as the Indian and Eurasian plates, impacts Nepal and Tibet, and the resulting tremors are felt in Delhi.</p>

<p><strong>Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Resigns:</strong> India&#8217;s Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has resigned from his post citing health reasons. His resignation was accepted by President Droupadi Murmu with immediate effect. Dhankhar submitted a letter to President Murmu on Monday (21 July 2025), announcing his resignation under Article 67(a) of the Constitution.</p>

<p>In his letter, Jagdeep Dhankhar stated his intention to prioritise his health and follow medical advice. <p><strong>Jaipur Vipin Murder Case:</strong> Police apprehended seven assailants, including the main accused, within 15 hours of the stabbing murder of Vipin, also known as Vikki, in Jaipur&#8217;s Paldi Meena kachchi basti. While police were transporting the main accused, Mohammad Anas, he attempted to escape by snatching a police officer&#8217;s pistol on Khoh Nagorian Marg, beyond Jagatpura.</p>



<p>During a scuffle with the police officer, the pistol discharged, injuring Anas in the leg. Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated that the history-sheeter Anas, injured by the gunshot, has been admitted to SMS Hospital. Following the incident, police detained 25 individuals, including Anas&#8217;s relatives and acquaintances, to gather information about his hiding places.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hundreds Gather with Family</h2>



<p>The accused was apprehended in Jaipur on Monday afternoon following a police cordon. Earlier, hundreds of people, along with the victim&#8217;s family, had gathered outside the Paldi Meena police station at 7 am. At 8:30 am, protesters reached the Jaipur-Agra highway, blocking the road with five demands. At 2 pm, police cleared the highway, but the protesters returned to block the road again.</p>

<p>Later in the afternoon, Additional Police Commissioner Dr. Rameshwar Singh arrived with police reinforcements and directed the protesters to an area leading to the Paldi Meena police station, where they remained until evening. MLA Kailash Verma and other leaders and organisation officials arrived at the scene. DCP Tejaswani Gautam stated that Anas and Shadab had carried out the stabbing. Shadab was also injured while attempting to escape. Mohammad Anas, Shadab, Aman, Gulzar, Farman, Bittu, Ilyas, and Rihan have been arrested.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Armed with Sticks and Rods</h2>



<p>The incident occurred approximately 150 meters from the police station, leading to public outrage. Residents claimed that the area was a gathering point for drug users and sellers, and that the police were not taking action. Protesters blocked Agra Road, demanding the victim&#8217;s family&#8217;s safety, a dairy booth, a government job, the arrest of the attackers within 24 hours, and ₹50 lakh in compensation.</p>



<p>Around 9:30 am on Monday, 40-50 protesters, armed with sticks and rods, arrived on Agra Road to shut down open shops, vandalising some. Agra Road&#8217;s market remained closed afterward. The government agreed to four of the family&#8217;s demands. An agreement on appropriate compensation was reached in the evening, ending the protest.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Post Shared 24 Hours Before the Incident</h2>



<p>Police reported that Anas and a young woman shared a social media post showing Anas brandishing a knife. This post was made 24 hours before the incident. In the post, he thanked his sister. The woman, from Nagaur, is being verified.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vipin Was the Eldest of Three Brothers</h2>



<p>At Vipin&#8217;s home in Paldi Meena, relatives comforted his mother and sister. Family members stated that Vipin was the eldest of three brothers and had five sisters. Anas and his accomplices called Vipin from a short distance from his home, seized him, and began stabbing him.</p>



<p>Hearing his screams, his sister, Machla, ran to the scene, but the attackers had already fled, leaving Vipin severely injured. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Vipin&#8217;s post-mortem was conducted on Monday evening after the agreement on the demands. The number of stab wounds will be determined after the post-mortem report.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dispute Over a Woman a Year Ago</h2>



<p>Police stated that a year prior, Anas and Vipin had a dispute over a woman. Anas has a criminal record and several cases are registered against him. He was arrested based on a complaint filed by Vipin&#8217;s family. Even then, the accused had attempted to escape custody.</p>

<p>He suffered a leg fracture during his escape attempt. Police subsequently paraded him. They also evicted him from a JDA quarter he had occupied in Paldi Meena. He then resided in Shastri Nagar and plotted revenge against Vipin.</p>

<p>A sensational case has emerged from Ahalyanagar, Maharashtra. A 21-year-old married woman has accused Kiran Kale, the city chief of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), of rape. </p>



<p>The victim has filed an FIR against the Uddhav faction leader at the Ahalyanagar city police station. This incident has sent shockwaves through political circles.</p>



<p>According to the information received, the victim and her husband were involved in a continuous family dispute. During this time, the woman contacted Kiran Kale for help. </p>



<p>It is alleged that under the guise of help, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader of Uddhav Thackeray repeatedly raped the woman at his office between 2023 and 2024. The victim also alleged that Kale threatened to kill her if she revealed this to anyone.</p>



<p>The police have registered a case, taken accused Kiran Kale into custody, and the investigation is underway. </p>



<p>This case is being considered another major setback for the Thackeray faction. Recently, several Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders have left the party and joined the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi. Therefore, serious allegations against a senior official will not only damage the party&#8217;s image but could also exacerbate the crisis of defections.</p>

<p>Panic ensued on the Jammu Tawi Express (train number 19223) this morning when smoke suddenly emerged from its B-1 coach. The incident occurred between the Bathinda-Goniana rail section, as the train departed towards Firozpur at 7:45 AM. The sight of smoke instilled fear among passengers, leading several to jump off the train to save themselves.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Panic Erupts on Sight of Smoke</h2>



<p>According to eyewitnesses, the sight of smoke billowing from the train&#8217;s coach triggered a stampede among passengers. Upon receiving information, railway staff and officials immediately arrived on the scene and attempted to control the situation. A technical investigation revealed that the smoke resulted from a brake binding issue. Railway staff rectified the technical fault after approximately half an hour&#8217;s effort, after which the train was dispatched to Firozpur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Casualties Reported</h2>



<p>No casualties have been reported during the incident, however, passengers have demanded that the railway administration conduct regular checks of trains and strengthen safety measures. Railway officials stated that trains undergo periodic checks to prevent such incidents, and a thorough investigation into this matter will be conducted to prevent similar situations in the future.</p>

<p>India&#8217;s troubles in the five-Test series against England show no signs of abating. After three Tests, India already trails 1-2, and now faces a series of setbacks. </p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Roadways</strong>: Devotees visiting Khatu Shyam Ji have reason to rejoice. Alwar Depot of Rajasthan Roadways has started a special bus service to cater to the needs of pilgrims. This service operates every Saturday, Sunday, and on Ekadashi.</p>



<p>Traffic Manager Sunil Bhagwati informed that due to Ekadashi falling on the upcoming Monday, the bus will depart from Alwar Depot at 9:00 AM for Khatu Shyam Ji. The return journey will commence from Khatu Shyam Ji at 4:15 PM.</p>



<p>The bus fare is ₹175 for male passengers and ₹95 for female passengers. The aim of this initiative is to provide devotees with affordable, safe, and regular transport. Roadways management has appealed to a large number of devotees to avail this service.</p>

<p>सावन माह का दूसरा सोमवार कोटा. सावन माह के दूसरे सोमवार को शिवालय जयकारों से गूंजे। कहीं श्रद्धालुओं ने खुद अभिषेक पूजन किया, कहीं पंडितों से करवाया। महिलाएं सुबह शिवालयों में पहुंची। भोलेनाथ को जल, दूध, आक- धतूरे बिल्वपत्र अर्पित कर सुख- समृदि्ध की कामना की। सर्याेदय से पहले ही शिवालयों में भक्ति की बयार चलना शुरू हुई। देर शाम तक शिवालय शिव शंकर को जिसने पूजा उसका बेड़ा पार हुआ.., भोले भंडारी, तेरी महिमा न्यारी&#8230;.जैसे भजन, मंत्र व जयकारों से गूंजते रहे। कई शिवालयों में भंग, बर्फ इत्यादि से भोलेनाथ का विशेष शृंगार किया गया। शाम को दर्शन के लिए पट खोले तो भीड़ उमड पड़ी।</p>
