
<p>In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, ignoring traffic rules could have serious consequences. The transport department is strengthening the Integrated Traffic Management System in Bhopal to enforce traffic regulations more effectively. This system will now include the revocation of driving licences (DLs) for repeated traffic violations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Driving Licenses to be Revoked</h2>



<p>This will be monitored by advanced cameras installed at 32 major intersections in the capital. While these cameras previously issued notices and fines for violations, now, after four notices, a driver&#8217;s DL will be revoked on the fifth offence. To facilitate this, the software of the Bhopal Smart City Company and Techno-cess Company will soon be integrated with the transport department&#8217;s server.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Starting with Bhopal-Registered Vehicles</h2>



<p>Initially, this integrated system will be implemented for vehicles registered in Bhopal. Information about vehicles violating rules will be available on the transport department&#8217;s website. After identifying the driver, their license will be revoked. A similar system is currently being implemented in Indore and may be rolled out to other major cities in the future.</p>

<p><strong>Mahakumbh 2025:</strong> His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck took a holy dip in the Sangam today. <p><strong>PM Modi US Visit:</strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to the United States on 12 February. PM Modi is scheduled to attend the AI Action Summit in Paris on 10 February. Departing from France, he will arrive in the US on the evening of 12 February. His meeting and discussions with President Trump are planned for the following day, 13 February. It&#8217;s anticipated that Trump will host a dinner in Modi&#8217;s honour. Discussions between the two leaders may cover trade, tariffs, defence cooperation, and regional security in the Indo-Pacific region.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Trump&#8217;s Positive Remarks, Actions Follow</h2>



<p>Following a lengthy phone conversation with Modi on 27 January, Trump informed reporters that he enjoys a good relationship with India and that the Indian Prime Minister might visit the US the following month. Modi&#8217;s US visit was confirmed a mere 15 days after this conversation. During his election campaign and after assuming office, Trump made negative comments about tariffs concerning China, Canada, Mexico, and India. However, his actions have differentiated India from the other three countries. In his conversation with Modi, Trump praised the Indian PM&#8217;s approach to illegal immigration, stating that he would do what is right.</p>

<p>Following Trump&#8217;s assumption of office, PM Modi was the first leader invited to visit the US. This indicates that US President Trump is prioritising his strategic partner, India. Home Minister Amit Shah held rallies in Jangpura, Bijwasan, and Dwarka, soliciting votes for the BJP. <p>Former CM Arvind Kejriwal is facing a tough challenge from BJP&#8217;s Pravesh Verma and Congress&#8217;s Sandeep Dikshit in the New Delhi constituency. If a three-cornered contest materialises here, Kejriwal, who won by over 21,000 votes last time, might find his seat difficult to retain. In Kalkaji, Chief Minister Atishi is facing strong competition from BJP&#8217;s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress&#8217;s Alka Lamba. A three-cornered contest is also likely here. Manish Sisodia, who shifted to Jangpura, does not have an easy path. He is facing stiff competition from BJP&#8217;s Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Congress&#8217;s Farhad Suri.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Owaisi&#8217;s Entry Could Change the Game</h2>



<p>A different equation is visible in two constituencies affected by the 2020 Delhi riots – Mustafabad and Okhla. The entry of Owaisi&#8217;s party, AIMIM, has made AAP and Congress apprehensive about vote splitting. In Okhla, AAP&#8217;s Amanatullah is facing a tough challenge not only from BJP and Congress but also from AIMIM candidate Shifa Ur Rehman, and similarly in Mustafabad from Tahir Hussain.</p>

<p><strong>R Ashwin on Suryakumar Yadav Batting:</strong> Although the Indian cricket team achieved a resounding 4-1 victory against England in the T20 International series, captain Suryakumar Yadav&#8217;s poor form has raised concerns. The Indian captain managed only 28 runs in 5 matches, twice being dismissed for a duck. His highest score in the series was a mere 14 runs. Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has asserted that Suryakumar Yadav needs to adapt his batting style to perform better in this shortest format of the game.</p>



<p>As a former world number-1 in T20s, Surya has high expectations from fans. While his captaincy in the domestic T20 series against England was excellent, his batting was far from his usual standard. The same problem exists with opening batsman Sanju Samson. R Ashwin was surprised to see both these veteran batsmen dismissed in similar circumstances against English fast bowlers. He claimed that both were dismissed similarly, making the same mistake – a serious concern for the team.</p>

<p>The former spinner praised Sky&#8217;s excellent captaincy, while also revealing that the batsman needs to change his batting style. A &#8216;buy one get one&#8217; offer was implemented on the third day to boost <em>Deva&#8217;s</em> business. This offer was available on BookMyShow on Sunday. Worldwide, the film has earned ₹34 crore.</p>

<p><strong>Delhi School Holiday:</strong> Voting for the Delhi Election 2025<strong> </strong>will be held on 5 February 2025 in Delhi, with results announced on 8 February. In view of this, all private and government schools will be closed. Furthermore, all government and private offices will also remain closed. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has already announced that all central government offices in Delhi, including industrial establishments, will be closed on polling day.</p>



<p>On election day, various school buildings are used as polling stations. This is another reason why schools will be closed on 5 February 2025. This is a standard practice during elections, where schools remain closed. However, it is advisable to confirm holiday information with the school and relevant institution.</p>

<p>An assailant attacked Saif in his Bandra residence, entering his youngest son Jeh&#8217;s room. The actor, bleeding profusely, took himself to the hospital, with his son Taimur present at the time.</p>

<p><strong>Weather Update:</strong> Several cities in the state have started experiencing intense heat in the first week of February itself. In the capital, the heat on Monday broke a 10-year record. Such high temperatures have never been recorded on 3 February. The mercury soared to 35.1 degrees Celsius. Even in Dantewada, surrounded by mountains, the sun seemed to be emitting fire. The maximum temperature there reached 36.4 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Maximum temperatures mostly 5.8 degrees above normal</h2>



<p>However, it is surprising that the state&#8217;s hottest area is a hilly region. It is noteworthy that not only Raipur or Dantewada, but most parts of the state have experienced a rise in temperatures. In these areas, the maximum temperature has increased by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no significant change expected in the maximum temperature in the next 24 hours. In Raipur on Monday, the maximum temperature was 5.8 degrees Celsius above normal. This was even higher than Jagdalpur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mercury used to rise in the third or last week of February</h2>



<p>An analysis of the maximum temperatures over the past 10 years reveals that such high maximum temperatures have never been recorded in the first week of February. Such temperatures were usually recorded in the third or last week of February. According to meteorological experts, the main reason for the heat is the reduced inflow of cold winds from North India. If this trend continues, there is a possibility of heatwaves in some areas in March.</p>

<p>With new recruitment stalling for two years, Home Guard training centres across districts struggle to maintain internal security with limited personnel working alongside the police. Despite these challenging circumstances, the state government seems oblivious to the plight of the Home Guard personnel.</p>



<p>The role of the Home Guard has expanded significantly in maintaining law and order in the state. Despite this, the personnel&#8217;s status remains inferior to that of the police. Home Guards do not receive mess or daily allowance (DA), and the benefits of the welfare fund are negligible. There is no pension provision. Travel allowance hasn&#8217;t been disbursed for five years. Uniforms are provided only once every two years. They lack the benefits of Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and ESI (Employees&#8217; State Insurance) and PF (Provident Fund).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Deployment in Police Stations</h2>



<p>Home Guard personnel advocate for their deployment in every government department and all police stations across the district. Appointments should be guaranteed with regular employment. Home Guard training centres should be established in newly formed districts. The number of female personnel should be increased in the districts. The Home Guard should have its own building in each district. New recruitment has been stalled for two years. There has also been no increase in the honorarium and allowances for Home Guard personnel.</p>

<p>A serious incident has come to light from Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh. A dispute arose between two brothers over the last rites of their father. The elder brother even demanded that the body be divided into two parts for the funeral. Relatives and villagers present were shocked by this.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Body Lay on the Ground for Hours</h2>



<p>The elder son was so adamant that the body remained on the ground outside the house for about 5 hours. The police had to intervene and resolve the matter. After police intervention, the last rites were performed. The entire incident took place in Gram Panchayat Tal Lidhora, Jatara police station area of Tikamgarh district. 85-year-old Dhyani Singh Ghosh had passed away.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Younger Brother Cared for Father</h2>



<p>Dhyani Singh&#8217;s younger son, Damodar Singh, had cared for his father. After his father&#8217;s death, he was preparing for the last rites. Meanwhile, the elder son, Kishan Singh, arrived with his family and insisted on performing the last rites. The younger brother protested, stating that he had cared for their father during his illness.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Demand to Divide the Body</h2>



<p>Seeing the matter not calming down, the elder brother, Kishan, suggested dividing the father&#8217;s body into two parts for the funeral. He said, &#8220;Let me perform the last rites for one part, and you for the other.&#8221; The police then intervened and mediated, after which the last rites were finally performed.</p>
