REET 2024 Exam: Railway to Run REET Special Train from Dheer Ka Balaji Station


<p><strong>REET-2024 Exam:</strong> Railways has announced special trains for REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers) exam candidates. According to railway officials, a special train will run between Dheer ka Balaji (Jaipur)-Gwalior (one trip). This train will depart from Dheer ka Balaji station at 7 PM on 27 February and arrive in Gwalior at 4 AM the next day. From Gwalior, the train will depart at 8:30 AM on 28 February and reach Dheer ka Balaji station at 5:55 PM. The train will stop at several stations including Jaipur, Gandhi Nagar, Dausa, Bandikui, Dausa, and Agra Cantt during its journey.</p>



<p>A Jodhpur-Gwalior-Dheer ka Balaji exam special train (one trip) will depart from Jodhpur at 11 PM on 25 February and arrive at Jaipur station at 4 AM.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Departure from Gwalior on 26 February at 7:30 PM</h2>



<p>After a ten-minute stop, the train will depart and reach Gwalior at 12:30 PM. Similarly, the Gwalior-Dheer ka Balaji special train (one trip) will depart from Gwalior at 7:30 PM on 26 February and reach Dheer ka Balaji station at 4:30 AM.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Exam on 27 and 28 February</h2>



<p>The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET-2024) will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer on 27 and 28 February.</p>

<p><strong>CBSE 10th Board Exam:</strong> From 2026, students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will get two attempts to pass their Class 10 board exams. Students who are not adequately prepared for a particular subject can opt to skip it in the first attempt; however, passing that subject will be mandatory in the second attempt. The CBSE Governing Body approved a proposal on Tuesday to reduce academic stress and provide students with an additional opportunity to improve their performance. Under this, the Class 10 exam will now be held twice a year. The first and second iterations of the board exams will also serve as supplementary exams, and no special exam will be conducted under any circumstances.</p>



<p>According to the draft guidelines approved by the CBSE Governing Body, the first phase of the Class 10 board exam will be scheduled between February and March, and the second phase in May. Both exams will cover the entire syllabus to comprehensively assess students&#8217; knowledge and skills. However, practical and internal assessments will be conducted only once a year. Students will have the opportunity to appear in both sessions and choose the session most suitable for their preparation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Feedback by 9th March</h2>



<p>It was officially stated that the draft criteria will now be placed in the public domain, and stakeholders can provide their feedback by March 9th. The policy will then be finalised. <p><strong>Same Exam Centres for Both Attempts</strong><br>A senior board official said that both exams will be conducted based on the entire syllabus, and candidates will be allocated the same exam centre for both attempts. The examination fee will be increased and collected for both exams at the time of application.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current System</h2>



<p>Currently, board exams for Classes 10 and 12 are held between February and March. During Covid, CBSE had divided the board exams into two sessions as a one-time measure. However, the board reverted to the traditional year-end exam format the following year.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Questions You May Have</h2>



<p><strong>1- Is it mandatory to take the exam both times?</strong><br>No, it will depend on the students. They can appear in the exam once or twice. Also, if they do not perform well in a subject, they can retake that subject in the second exam.</p>



<p><strong>2- Will practical and internal assessments be held both times?</strong><br>Board exams will be held twice a year, but practical and internal assessments will be conducted only once a year.</p>



<p><strong>3- Will the syllabi for both exams be different?</strong><br>Both exams will be based on the entire syllabus. The exam format will be the same.</p>



<p><strong>4- How will the exam result be determined?</strong><br>If a student takes the exam twice, the better result will be considered final. For example, if the marks are lower in the second exam, the marks of the first exam will be considered final.</p>



<p><strong>5- What will be the difference in exam fees and registration?</strong><br>Registration for both exams will have to be done at the same time. If the option to take the exam twice is chosen, the fee will be collected together. This clearly indicates that the exam fee will increase.</p>



<p>The new exam framework has created seven categories of subjects: Language-1, Language-2, Elective-1, Elective-2, Elective-3, Regional and Foreign Language, and other subjects.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Two-Tier System in Science and SST</h2>



<p>The CBSE Governing Body, making another change, has decided to implement a two-tier system for Science and Social Science subjects in Class 9 from 2026. Based on the difficulty level, it will be divided into Basic and Advanced. After the Governing Body&#8217;s approval, the way is now clear to implement it from the next session. Sources said that in 2028, the Basic and Advanced papers for both Science and Social Science subjects in Class 10 may be separate. This decision has been taken under the new National Education Policy. This system is currently in place for Mathematics.</p>

<p>REET Exam 2025: Jaipur. Candidates appearing for the REET exam in Rajasthan will be able to travel free of charge to their examination centres on Rajasthan Roadways buses. In addition, special trains have also been arranged for REET candidates.</p>



<p>Candidates applying for the REET exam have been provided with free travel by the Rajasthan government for a total of five days – two days before and two days after the exam. Candidates will need to show their admit card to avail this facility.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Free Travel on Roadways Buses Until 2 March</h2>



<p>If a candidate&#8217;s exam is on 27 February, they can travel free on Roadways buses from 25 February to 1 March. Similarly, if a candidate&#8217;s exam is on 28 February, they can travel free on Roadways buses from 26 February to 2 March.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Facility Available on Roadways&#8217; Blue Line Buses</h2>



<p>This facility will be provided only on Roadways&#8217; Blue Line buses. The REET exam for teacher recruitment will be held on 27 and 28 February in Rajasthan. More than 14,29,800 students have registered to appear for this exam across the state.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Special Trains for REET Exam</h2>



<p>The North Western Railway is operating special train services – Sri Ganganagar-Daurai (Ajmer)-Sri Ganganagar and Bharatpur-Jaipur-Bharatpur REET Exam Specials – to provide convenient and safe travel for candidates participating in the REET exam 2025.</p>



<p>Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer, North Western Railway, informed that the Sri Ganganagar-Daurai (Ajmer)-Sri Ganganagar REET Exam Special will depart from Sri Ganganagar at 3:35 pm on 27 February and arrive in Daurai at 6:55 am the next day. Similarly, the Daurai (Ajmer)-Sri Ganganagar REET Exam Special will depart from Daurai on 28 February. In addition, the Bharatpur-Jaipur-Bharatpur REET Exam Special will depart from Bharatpur on Wednesday. A Medta Road-Bharatpur REET Exam Special will also commence on Wednesday.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1,731 Examination Centres Established in 41 Districts</h2>



<p>1,731 examination centres have been established across 41 districts in Rajasthan. The REET exam will be conducted in three shifts over two days at these centres. Jaipur will see the highest number of candidates for the state-wide REET exam, with 2,70,018 candidates. 233 examination centres have been set up in Jaipur city for this purpose. Balotra will have the lowest number of candidates, with 11 examination centres established.</p>

<p><strong>1984 Anti-Sikh Riots Case:</strong> Sajjan Kumar was sentenced on Tuesday, 25 February, in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja pronounced the life imprisonment sentence at 2 pm. Sajjan Kumar is already serving a life sentence following a 2018 conviction by the Delhi High Court in a related case concerning the anti-Sikh riots. The 1984 riots erupted on 31 October 1984, following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. These riots resulted in the deaths of at least 2,800 people in the national capital.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">10 Key Points on the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots</h2>



<p>1- Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards on 31 October 1984.</p>



<p>2- Anti-Sikh riots broke out in Delhi and several other parts of the country on 1 November 1984, the day after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi&#8217;s assassination.</p>



<p>3- Media reports indicate that approximately 2,800 people were killed in Delhi alone during these riots. The nationwide death toll is estimated to be around 3,500.</p>



<p>4- In May 2000, the GT Nanavati Commission was constituted to investigate the riots.</p>



<p>5- Based on the recommendations of the GT Nanavati Commission, the CBI registered a case on 24 October 2005.</p>



<p>6- Subsequently, the trial court issued summons on 1 February 2010 to Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, Balwan Khokar, Mahender Yadav, Captain Bhagmal, Girdhari Lal, Kishan Khokar, Maha Singh, and Santosh Rani.</p>



<p>7- The court acquitted Sajjan Kumar on 30 April 2013.</p>



<p>8- The CBI appealed to the High Court on 19 July 2013. The High Court issued a notice to Sajjan Kumar on 22 July 2013.</p>



<p>9- Following the murder of five Sikhs and the burning of a Gurudwara in Palam Colony, Delhi Cantt the High Court convicted Sajjan Kumar on 17 December 2018 for the murder of the five Sikhs. The court sentenced Sajjan Kumar to life imprisonment.</p>



<p>10-The then Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, apologised in Parliament 21 years after the riots. He stated in Parliament, &#8220;Whatever happened makes my head hang in shame.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Mahakumbh 2025:</strong> A sea of faith is surging during the final bath in the Mahakumbh on Wednesday, Mahashivratri. In the 44 days since 13 January, 64.33 crore devotees have bathed in the Sangam. Around 3 crore devotees are expected to bathe in the Sangam on the occasion of Mahashivratri. With this, the number of those taking a holy dip in this Mahakumbh will exceed 67 crore.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, the Mela administration is on high alert regarding the expected crowds on Mahashivratri. In case of overcrowding at the Sangam ghat, people will be diverted to other ghats. Additionally, entry of all vehicles into other mela areas has been prohibited.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Auspicious Conjunction like Amrit Snana</h2>



<p>A highly auspicious conjunction, akin to Amrit Snana, is forming on Mahashivratri during the Mahakumbh. On 26 February, there will be a confluence of Trigrahi Yoga, Budhaditya Yoga, and the lunar constellation Shravana. Mahashivratri will be celebrated with the Budhaditya and Trigrahi Yogas in the Shravana Nakshatra of the moon for the first time in 31 years, and devotees will bathe on the banks of the Triveni. The Sun, Mercury, and Saturn, all residing in the zodiac sign of Aquarius, are creating the auspicious yoga of Amrit Snana.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mahakaleshwar Temple Gates to Remain Open for 44 Continuous Hours</h2>



<p>In Ujjain, the gates of the Mahakaleshwar Temple opened at 2:30 am on Tuesday. They will remain open for darshan for 44 continuous hours. A special Bhasma Aarti will be held at 12 noon on 27 February, which is held only once a year. 8-10 lakh devotees had already performed darshan on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. This number could exceed 10 lakh on Mahashivratri alone. The administration has deployed security forces for crowd control. Devotees will have to undertake a 2.5-kilometre walk to catch a glimpse of the &#8216;Dulha Bane Baba&#8217;. The temple administration claims that every devotee will be able to have darshan within one to one and a half hours, while past experiences suggest it will take two and a half to three hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">VIP Darshan Suspended at Baba Vishwanath Temple</h2>



<p>Varanasi: Considering the expected crowds on Mahashivratri, the ‘VIP darshan’ facility at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi has been suspended from 25 to 27 February. Kashi Vishwanath Temple&#8217;s Chief Executive Officer, Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, explained that a large crowd is expected this year due to the Mahakumbh. A large number of people are arriving in Varanasi to witness the Shiv Vivah.</p>

Jaipur: Late-night raid exposes illegal activities at two spas, 10 detained


<p>Jaipur News: Several police officers and staff from the East Police district of Jaipur conducted simultaneous raids across their respective areas, resulting in the detention of five young women and five young men. Legal action is being taken against them. These raids were conducted on the orders of DCP East, Tejaswani Gautam. The raids caused a stir, creating an atmosphere of fear throughout the affected areas.</p>



<p>Several spa centres, including Hello Kitty, Velina, Just Relax, White Orchid, Olive, Ganga Thai, Delight, and Alantra, operate in and around Jawahar Circle. Police suspected that these spas were involved in illegal activities. While most establishments inspected during the raids were found to be operating legally, two spas were found to be involved in immoral activities.</p>



<p>Police detained five men and five women from these two spas. They were allegedly engaging in illicit activities under the guise of spa services. The action was taken late at night, even after the spas&#8217; closing time. The police are currently questioning the accused and are filing cases against them under the PITA Act and other relevant sections.</p>


<p>Jaipur Police Action: Several spa centres, including Hello Kitty, Velina, Just Relax, White Orchid, Olive, Ganga Thai, Delight, and Alantra, are operating in and around Jawahar Circle.</p>

Paper leak: Exam paper went viral an hour before test, students paid ₹500 to join group


<p>Paper leaks continue unabated at Rajarshi Bhartrihari Matsya University in Alwar. On Monday, the first-semester computer exam paper was leaked an hour early at 11 am on Telegram and Instagram groups.</p>



<p>It is reported that several students are members of these groups. Notably, some students were reportedly charged up to ₹500 to join these groups. These groups also allegedly leaked Zoology Semester-1, Maths Semester-1, Geography Semester-3, and Hindi exam papers before their respective exams. Students from Dehlabas, Kishangarh, and Banasur are reportedly involved. Furthermore, reports suggest students were called an hour before the exam.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Transparency Under Scrutiny</h2>



<p>While Matsya University claims to conduct transparent examinations, the continuous paper leaks raise serious questions. The appearance of exam papers on social media before the exams is a grave concern. The university administration must address this issue. Furthermore, money is being charged for access to these groups that leak papers. This is happening despite the government&#8217;s repeated claims of taking action against paper leaks. Such fraudulent activities lead to disappointment among hardworking students. Matsya University has approximately 50,000 students appearing for examinations.</p>



<p>An investigation will be conducted into this matter. An FIR will be filed against those found guilty. The matter is being looked into.</p>

<p><strong>MP News:</strong> In the coming days, the public transport system of the Bhopal will be among the best in the country. After the metro, the people of Bhopal will be able to travel from one place to another without stopping, using a ropeway, also known as a skybus-car. This gift to the city was announced at the Global Investors Summit. Of the 15 proposed ropeways across the state, three will be constructed in Bhopal. Officials say that it will extend from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station to New Market, from Polytechnic Road at Bada Talab to Khanugaon and further to Lal Ghati. Additionally, MP Nagar and the old railway station will also be connected to Kali Mandir via ropeway.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Connecting to a Larger Population</h2>



<p>● The Bhopal-Indore Green Field Expressway will be 160 km long, reducing the travel distance by 40 km.</p>



<p>● The Vindhya Expressway, spanning 676 km, will connect Bhopal to Singrauli.</p>



<p>● Bhopal will be connected to the Narmada Pragati Path. The 906 km long Pragati Path will connect Bhopal to Rewa, Harda, Narmadapuram, Khandwa, Khargone and beyond.</p>



<p>● The Bhopal Lucknow Economic Corridor will directly connect Bhopal to Kanpur, Varanasi, and Lucknow. It will boost mining, tourism, and goods transportation in Uttar Pradesh.</p>



<p>● The Jabalpur Greenfield Expressway is proposed to be 255 km long. Work on it will begin next year.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹1000 Crore for Education Infrastructure</h2>



<p>Two educational institutions have announced investments of approximately ₹1000 crore in Bhopal. This means that new educational institutions will be seen in the city in the coming days. Skilled people will be trained here according to the demands of the job market.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Investment in IT</h2>



<p>Abid Farooqui, an investor from London associated with Friends of India, along with 45 associates, will invest ₹125 crore in Bhopal. They will open an IT delivery centre here. Bhopal&#8217;s and the state&#8217;s new proposed projects will be based on the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). In this, the government will contribute 40% of the cost, and the rest will be borne by the private developer. Private investors will recover the amount in installments through tolls and other means. The private investor will be paid in installments over 15 to 20 years.</p>

Odisha: Strong earthquake tremors jolt cities, residents rush out in fear


<p>Earthquake tremors were felt in several cities across Odisha on Tuesday morning. The tremors were strong enough to cause people to flee their homes in fear. The tremors were felt in Puri, Berhampur, Balasore, and Bhubaneswar around 6:10 AM. </p>



<p>According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in the Bay of Bengal at latitude 19.52 degrees North and longitude 88.55 degrees East. Its magnitude was measured at 5.1 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was 286 kilometres from Puri and 394 kilometres from Berhampur.</p>

<p>Similar tremors were also felt in parts of West Bengal and neighbouring Bangladesh. While people are shaken by the earthquake, no reports of damage have emerged so far.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Frequent Earthquakes in the Country</h2>



<p>Recently, there have been several earthquake events in different parts of the country. Earlier, on 23 February, tremors were felt in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre located in Kupwara itself. On 17 February, a strong earthquake hit Delhi-NCR. This earthquake, which struck at 5:36 AM, had its epicentre in New Delhi and a depth of 5 kilometres. The tremors were so strong that they woke sleeping people and caused panic among those who were awake.</p>



<p>These incidents have increased public anxiety, although today&#8217;s earthquake in Odisha caused no major damage. Nevertheless, monitoring seismic activity and exercising caution remain essential.</p>


<p>The epicentre of the earthquake was 286 kilometres from Puri and 394 kilometres from Berhampur.</p>
