
<p><strong>Bareilly.</strong> A woman residing in a village under the Meerganj police station area received obscene photos and offensive messages from an unknown number on WhatsApp late at night. When the woman protested, the accused also threatened to kill her over a WhatsApp call. The matter has reached the police. The victim has given a written complaint along with screenshots. The police have started an investigation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused Threatens to Kill</h2>



<p>The woman stated that she was using a SIM card in her mobile phone registered in her husband&#8217;s name. As usual, after about 9:30 pm on May 19th, objectionable photos and offensive messages suddenly started arriving on WhatsApp from an unknown number. This continued until about 11:30 pm. The woman initially ignored them, but when the harassment crossed the line, she strongly protested. Upon this, the accused threatened to kill her over a WhatsApp call.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">FIR Registered, Police Investigating</h2>



<p>The accused was making obscene remarks, causing significant mental distress to the woman. The victim immediately took screenshots as evidence, as the accused deleted all the messages shortly afterwards. The next day, the woman went to the cyber crime police station, informed them about the entire incident, and filed a complaint. Based on the written complaint, the police have launched an investigation. The accused&#8217;s number is being traced with the help of the cyber cell. The police say that the accused will be identified and action will be taken soon.</p>

Covid Update: 5-month-old baby dies in Delhi, active cases near 6,000 nationwide


<p><strong>India&#8217;s Covid-19 cases:</strong> The coronavirus is spreading again, and its infection has spread across all states in the country. According to the dashboard of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of active cases of corona infection across the country increased to 5755 on Saturday morning, and so far 5484 patients have recovered. With four more patients dying from the infection in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 59.</p>



<p>In the last 24 hours, up to 8 am today, 391 new active cases of corona have emerged in the country, and 760 patients have been discharged from the hospital after recovering. Four more patients have died from this deadly disease. In the capital Delhi, a five-month-old child has died.</p>



<p>According to ministry data, the highest number of cases have been reported in Kerala. Nine states in the country have seen a rapid increase in active corona cases. Among these, a significant increase in cases has also been seen in Kerala, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. In the last 24 hours, one patient each has died from corona infection in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.</p>



<p>The health ministry has appealed to people to follow the corona protocol and said that there is no need to panic. They have also appealed to people to avoid crowded areas and use masks. Local administrations have been instructed to prepare for all kinds of health services.</p>



<p>The ministry stated that the continuous increase in infections is being linked to the spread of new variants, including LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and the recently identified NB.1.8.1 subvariant. Kerala has the highest number of total active cases in the country at 1806, and 665 have been recorded in Delhi.</p>



<p>In addition, there are 717 in Gujarat, 622 in West Bengal, 577 in Maharashtra, 444 in Karnataka, 194 in Tamil Nadu, 208 in Uttar Pradesh, 108 in Rajasthan, 87 in Haryana, 72 in Andhra Pradesh, 13 in Puducherry, 16 in Sikkim, 32 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Jharkhand, 41 in Chhattisgarh, 44 in Bihar, 29 in Odisha, 8 in Jammu and Kashmir, 26 in Punjab, 8 in Assam, 9 in Goa, 9 in Telangana, 7 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Chandigarh, 3 in Himachal Pradesh, and 1 active case in Tripura. No corona infection cases have been reported in Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.</p>

<p>A fire broke out unexpectedly Saturday morning at a trade fair in South City ground, Delhi Road, Saharanpur. The rapidly spreading flames quickly reduced shops to rubble. No casualties have been reported so far. Firefighters have brought the blaze under control, and an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.</p>



<p>A trade fair had been running for almost a month in South City ground on Delhi Road in the Kotwali Sadar Bazaar area. Thousands of families visited daily to enjoy the rides and the fair. A large crowd was expected on Saturday for Eid, but the fire broke out before then. The fire, which started around 7 am, destroyed 24 shops in a short time.</p>

<p>Sethpal, the fair contractor, says he was asleep at home when the incident occurred. He received news of the fire and arrived to find firefighters already on the scene, bringing the blaze under control. He is unaware of the cause of the fire. He confirms that there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is under investigation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Was Permission Granted?</h2>



<p>This incident raises questions about how a fair was allowed to operate in a residential area and on what basis permission was granted. It was fortunate that the fire broke out in the morning; had it occurred at night, there could have been significant loss of life. The fairground has only one entrance and exit point. This raises concerns about whether regulations were ignored, and whether people&#8217;s lives were recklessly endangered.</p>

<p>India&#8217;s Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has officially granted Elon Musk&#8217;s company, Starlink, a license to provide satellite communication services in India. Sources within the DOT have stated that the test spectrum will be provided within 15-20 days of application. The launch of Starlink&#8217;s broadband and satellite internet services is expected to bring high-speed internet access to rural and remote areas of India. Starlink is the third company in India to receive a satcom license.</p>



<p>Previously, OneWeb and Reliance Jio were also granted licenses to launch satellite services. Starlink has been seeking entry into the Indian market since 2022. Amazon&#8217;s Kuiper is also awaiting entry into the Indian market. Notably, India is the world&#8217;s second-largest internet market, making it a highly attractive destination for these companies.</p>



<p><strong>What is Starlink?</strong><br>Starlink is SpaceX&#8217;s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite-based internet service. Its satellites orbit closer to the Earth, resulting in faster and smoother internet speeds. It has the potential to deliver high-speed internet to remote areas across the globe.</p>



<p><strong>Benefits</strong><br>Starlink will bring internet access to villages, mountainous regions, and remote areas. This will boost online education, telemedicine, and businesses. Increased competition is also expected to lead to cheaper and better internet plans.</p>



<p><strong>Potential Pricing</strong><br>According to a report, SpaceX may launch initial plans in India for under $10, or approximately ₹840 per month. These plans are expected to offer unlimited data.</p>

<p><strong>New Update on Kota Suicide Case:</strong> A new twist has emerged in the case of the death of an MBBS student in a medical college hostel approximately three months ago. Sunil Bairava, a student from Bassi, Jaipur, had committed suicide by hanging himself in the hostel. Following serious allegations against the college administration, a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has now been registered.</p>



<p>DSP Manish Sharma stated that on Thursday, a murder case was filed against the medical college principal, Sangita Saksena, the hostel warden, and two fellow students in connection with Sunil Bairava&#8217;s death. Preliminary investigations revealed that the student was under immense mental pressure and faced harassment, leading him to take his own life.</p>



<p>The police have initiated an investigation, recording statements from the deceased student&#8217;s family and other college students. The family alleges that the college administration initially attempted to suppress the case by portraying it as a suicide, but a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has now been registered based on evidence and public pressure.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Father Levels Accusations</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that the deceased student&#8217;s father, and fellow doctor, Dr. Kamal, alleged that the college administration had mentally tormented Sunil. They stated that when he returned to the college to request permission to retake an examination, he was scolded and sent away. Following this incident, he fell into deep depression. After the incident, undergraduate and postgraduate students of the college staged a sit-in outside the principal&#8217;s office, demanding strict action against the college administration.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Suicide Note Found</h2>



<p>Police recovered a suicide note from the deceased&#8217;s hostel room, in which he apologised to his parents for being unable to fulfil their dreams. He subsequently committed suicide in his hostel room.</p>

<p>The fire in a natural crater in Turkmenistan, which has been burning for 45 years, has subsided. The government announced on Thursday that the fire is now largely under control. This perpetually burning fire has transformed a quiet, desert area into a tourist attraction. Known worldwide as the &#8220;Door to Hell,&#8221; this crater is the result of a mistake by Soviet engineers.</p>



<p>In 1971, these scientists were drilling for underground gas. During drilling, the ground collapsed, and a leak of toxic gases began. The scientists on-site set the gases alight to prevent them from escaping, a fire that has raged ever since. However, scientists now say that the flames have slowed due to a decrease in the flow of these gases. Irina Luriva, director of Turkmengaz, Turkmenistan&#8217;s energy company, stated that the flames have dimmed by up to three times. Flames that were once visible from miles away are now only visible from close proximity.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Country becomes largest methane emitter</h2>



<p>Turkmenistan, home to the world&#8217;s fourth-largest gas reserves, has become the world&#8217;s largest methane emitter due to this gas leak. However, Turkmenistan denies this claim. Methane is considered a major contributor to climate change and ozone depletion. Several wells have also been dug around the crater to collect and use it as energy. However, this project has not been successful.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">30 meters deep and 70 meters in diameter</h2>



<p>The crater is located in the middle of the Karakum Desert, 260 kilometers from Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The crater&#8217;s diameter is 60-70 meters, while its depth is reported to be 30 meters. It continues to emit a foul odour, yet millions of tourists visit this natural wonder every year. In 2019, the then-leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow organised a car rally around the crater, conveying a message that he wanted to be remembered as the person who closed the &#8220;Door to Hell&#8221;.</p>

<p><strong>Dipika Kakar Out Of ICU After Cancer Surgery:</strong> Television actress Dipika Kakar has been diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. The actress learned about this life-threatening illness a few days ago. She has now undergone liver cancer surgery. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, shared a vlog providing an update on her health. He mentioned that Dipika&#8217;s surgery lasted 14 hours, and the lack of news from the operating theatre caused considerable anxiety. A portion of her liver had to be removed to save her life and ensure her future health. He requested prayers for her.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dipika Kakar Out of ICU (Dipika Kakar Health Update)</h2>



<p>Providing an update on Dipika&#8217;s health, Shoaib said, “Tomorrow is Eid al-Adha, and on this auspicious day, Dipika has been moved out of the ICU. I am grateful that she is out of the ICU and with us. She was in the ICU for three days, and her condition is improving after the surgery. In the evening, the doctors decided to move her to a room. She will remain here for a few days because the surgery was extensive; she was in the operating theatre for 14 hours.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Shoaib Ibrahim Reveals 14-Hour Surgery (Dipika Kakar Liver Cancer Surgery)</h2>



<p>Shoaib further stated, “We were all very worried about Dipika because the doctor had mentioned it would be a long surgery. She was admitted at 8:30 am and came out of the operating theatre at 11:30 pm. I met her after she was shifted to the ICU, between 6 and 7 pm. During this time, we were all very anxious because there were no updates from the operating theatre, as we had never witnessed such a serious surgery before.”</p>



<p>Shoaib explained, “Thankfully, the doctor assured me that if they didn&#8217;t come out for updates, it meant the surgery was going well and she would be completely fine.” Shoaib further explained how Dipika also had a gallstone, which was removed during the surgery. Her gallbladder was also removed due to the stone, and a small part of her liver had to be resected because the tumour was cancerous.</p>

<p><strong>Shubman Gill&#8217;s ancestral village near the IND-PAK Border:</strong> A small village, Chak Kherewala, situated in Fazilka district of Punjab, lies a mere 16 kilometres from the Pakistan border. While its name may be unfamiliar to most cricket fans, this village holds a significant connection to Shubman Gill, the captain of the Indian Test team. It is, in fact, Gill&#8217;s ancestral village, where he was born on 8 September 1999. The village erupted in jubilant celebrations on 24 May when Gill was appointed captain of the Indian Test team.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Now, the village of the Test team captain</h2>



<p>Ranga Ram, the village headman, states that Shubman Gill is the pride of their village. The village will now be recognised as the home of the Indian Test team captain. He recounted, &#8220;I remember we villagers were discussing something when a child came running to inform us that Shubhu Paji had become the captain of the Indian Test team. Honestly, hearing this filled our hearts with immense pride.&#8221; In the village, Shubman is affectionately called &#8216;Shubhu Paji&#8217;.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gill&#8217;s father left the village to make him a cricketer</h2>



<p>Gill&#8217;s father, Lakhvinder Singh, was a farmer with a deep passion for cricket. His ancestors owned over 60 acres of land in the village. Lakhvinder faced a choice: either leave the village for Mohali, a city with better cricket facilities, to nurture Gill&#8217;s cricketing aspirations, or remain in the village and lead a simpler life. He chose the former and left the village 18 years ago.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Every child now dreams of following in Shubman&#8217;s footsteps</h2>



<p>Surinder Chhindi, secretary of the Fazilka Cricket Association, mentions the construction of a new stadium near Gill&#8217;s village to provide better facilities for the children. He added, &#8220;Shubman Gill&#8217;s influence is visible not only in his village but also in the surrounding areas. Every child aspires to become a cricketer like him. Previously, people discouraged children from playing cricket, but now even parents encourage their children.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eagerly awaiting their captain&#8217;s visit</h2>



<p>The villagers assert that Shubman has not forgotten his roots and enjoys spending time in his village. However, this time, it&#8217;s not Shubman but the national Test team captain who will be visiting, and they eagerly await his arrival.</p>

<p><strong>INS Arnala:</strong> A new chapter is set to be added to the strength of the Indian Navy. The country&#8217;s first Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (SWC) – INS Arnala – will be officially inducted into the Navy on 18 June. This historic ceremony will be held at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, presided over by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1490 Tonnes Weight and 77 Metres Long</h2>



<p>INS Arnala, a state-of-the-art warship measuring 77 metres in length and weighing 1490 tonnes, is powered by a diesel engine-waterjet combination. This technology makes it the Indian Navy&#8217;s largest waterjet-propelled warship. The vessel is designed for underwater surveillance, search and rescue operations, and Low Intensity Maritime Operations (LIMO). Its biggest contribution will be seen in anti-submarine operations in coastal waters.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Major Success of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Campaign</h2>



<p>INS Arnala is the first of a series of 16 indigenous Shallow Water Crafts for the Indian Navy. It has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, in partnership with L&amp;T Shipbuilders under a public-private partnership model. It uses over 80% indigenous material, making it a major success of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) campaign.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Meaning of the Name INS Arnala</h2>



<p>The ship is named after the historic Arnala fort located near the Vasai coast in Maharashtra, which in 1737, under the leadership of Chimaji Appa, became a symbol of maritime security. Reflecting this spirit, INS Arnala will also symbolise India&#8217;s maritime defence capabilities and strategic resolve. This warship incorporates advanced defence systems from major companies like Bharat Electronics Limited, L&amp;T, and Mahindra Defence. The project has also strengthened the domestic defence industry through over 55 MSMEs involved.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Destroyer of Enemies at Sea</h2>



<p>The commissioning of INS Arnala will not only strengthen coastal security but also empower India&#8217;s maritime presence in the Indian Ocean region. This step will prove to be a milestone in establishing India as a self-reliant power in maritime security.</p>

प्रदर्शन की सूचना पाकर शाहजहांपुर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और हालात को नियंत्रित कर शव को मोर्चरी में रखवा दिया। शनिवार सुबह भी श्रमिक कंपनी में कार्य बहिष्कार कर मांग पर अड़े रहे। शाहजहांपुर थानाधिकारी मनोहरलाल मीना ने श्रमिकों से समझाइश कर कम्पनी प्रबन्धन व श्रमिकों के बीच वार्ता कराई। इस पर कम्पनी यूनियन अध्यक्ष योगेश शर्मा की मध्यस्थता में प्रबन्धन  ने मृतक के परिजनों को कम्पनी की ओर से निर्धारित सभी सुविधाओं से मिलने वाली राशि सहित 17.23 लाख रुपए देने की बात कही। साथ ही कम्पनी बेश पर मृतक के वेतनमान पर ही पत्नी हेमा को नौकरी देने की सहमति बनी। पुलिस ने बताया कि  श्रमिक कौशल कुमार पुत्र अजय कुमार, निवासी भरपुरा, जिला मिर्जापुर हाल निवासी शाहजहांपुर जो कम्पनी में ऑपरेटर पद पर कार्यरत था। जो कम्पनी से काम कर घर लौट रहा था। रास्ते में हाईवे पर अज्ञात वाहन ने उसकी बाइक को टक्कर मार दी। हादसे में श्रमिक की मौत हो गई।  शनिवार सुबह मृतक का पोस्टमार्टम करा शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया।<br />
