<p><strong>ISI Spy Arrest:</strong> A 28-year-old health worker employed in Gujarat&#8217;s Kutch district has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan&#8217;s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) announced the arrest on Saturday. This is the third such espionage case in the state in the last eight months, raising concerns among security agencies.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused&#8217;s Name and Role</h2>



<p>The arrested accused is Sahdev Singh Dipubha Gohil, who was employed as a contract Multipurpose Health Worker (MPH) at the Mata-na-Madh Primary Health Centre in Kutch district. According to the ATS, Gohil sent sensitive pictures and videos related to the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Navy to an unknown female agent who identified herself as Aditi Bhardwaj.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Contact via WhatsApp, Cash Payment Received</h2>



<p>ATS officials stated that Gohil was contacted by Aditi Bhardwaj on WhatsApp in mid-2023. The woman identified herself as an agent of the Pakistani intelligence agency and asked Gohil to send pictures and videos of the BSF and Navy&#8217;s under-construction and recently built security establishments in the Kutch region. In early 2025, Gohil purchased a new SIM card using his Aadhaar card, activated WhatsApp on it, and handed the SIM card to Bhardwaj. He continued sharing sensitive information through this medium. The investigation also revealed that Gohil received ₹40,000 in cash through an intermediary in exchange for his espionage activities.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Arrest Made with Technical Surveillance and Central Agency Assistance</h2>



<p>On 1 May, the ATS apprehended Gohil based on technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, followed by a formal arrest. A case has been registered against him under sections 61 (criminal conspiracy) and 148 (waging war against the government or assisting in waging war) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Several pieces of information were deleted from Gohil&#8217;s mobile phone, which has now been sent to a forensic science lab for data retrieval.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Activity of Pakistani Agents on Social Media a Matter of Concern</h2>



<p>ATS officials stated that in recent months, there has been an increase in incidents of Pakistani intelligence agencies enticing Indian citizens through social media. Agents often pose as women, targeting individuals who are emotionally or financially vulnerable. The official said, &#8220;They have a large database and contact different people. Some people fall prey to greed or emotional traps and end up sharing sensitive information.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Background of Previous Cases in Gujarat</h2>



<p>Prior to the Kutch case, in November 2024, Dipesh Batuk Gohil, a resident of Arambada village in Okha taluka, Devbhoomi Dwarka district, was arrested. He had worked on Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships for three years and was apprehended for allegedly sending information about the ships to a Pakistani agent through a Facebook account named Sahima. He received ₹42,000.</p>



<p>Similarly, in October 2024, Pankaj Kotia of Porbandar was arrested for allegedly sending information about Coast Guard ships to a Pakistan-based female agent named Riya. He received ₹26,000 through various bank accounts.</p>

Covid cases rise in India: New infections in Delhi, Haryana, advisory issued


<p><strong>New Covid-19 Cases in India:</strong> After three years, the Covid-19 virus is slowly resurfacing in India. With new cases emerging in states like Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, and Karnataka, both central and state governments have increased their vigilance. All citizens are advised to adopt Covid-appropriate behaviour.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Delhi on Alert, Hospitals Instructed to be Fully Prepared</h2>



<p>The Delhi government, through the health department, has issued an advisory instructing all government and private hospitals to be on high alert. The advisory mandates that hospitals maintain sufficient beds, oxygen, antibiotics, vaccines, and other essential medicines. Furthermore, ventilators and oxygen concentrators must be in working order. The advisory also includes training all healthcare personnel, strengthening Covid testing and reporting procedures, and sending positive samples to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing. Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that there are 23 active Covid cases in Delhi.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Haryana: Mild Symptoms, Four Active Cases</h2>



<p>Haryana currently has four active cases—two in Gurugram and two in Faridabad. All patients exhibit mild symptoms and are under home quarantine. State Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated, “This variant is mild and under control. There is no need to panic. The government is fully prepared.” She added that all civil surgeons have been instructed to keep treatment and logistical facilities active.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New Infection Cases Also Reported in Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka</h2>



<p>Gujarat reported 15 new Covid-19 cases on Friday. Kerala saw 182 cases in May. Health Minister Veena George stated that all cases are under close monitoring. Karnataka has 16 active cases. State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao reported that a nine-month-old child in Bengaluru has also tested positive.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government Appeal: Stay Vigilant, Don&#8217;t Panic</h2>



<p>Health Ministry officials say this new surge is in its initial stages, and symptoms remain mild. Nevertheless, all citizens are advised to: wear masks (especially in crowded places), maintain hand hygiene, avoid unnecessary crowds, and not take any health-related symptoms lightly.</p>

<p><strong>Rajsamand:</strong> A bus overturned in Bhava village, under the Kanakroli police station area of the district. Three people are reported dead in the accident, while over 20 others are said to be injured.</p>

<p>The bus was reportedly travelling from Nagpur (Maharashtra) to Bhilwara. The video coach bus was speeding and failed to navigate a bend, resulting in the overturn. Police, upon receiving information, rushed to the scene and transported the injured to RK Hospital for treatment. It is reported that both wheels of the bus came off. A JCB was used to remove the damaged bus from the highway.</p>

<p><strong>MP Weather:</strong> Gusty winds and rain continue across districts in Madhya Pradesh. On Friday, many districts experienced winds gusting at 30-60 km/h, accompanied by light showers. This provided some relief from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, more than half of MP will experience similar weather for the next 4-5 days. A storm and rain alert has been issued for 47 districts on Saturday. The South-West monsoon is expected to reach Kerala by 24-25 May. Speculation suggests that the monsoon may arrive in Madhya Pradesh before its scheduled date of 15 June.</p>

<p>According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is currently present over Punjab and adjoining areas in the upper levels of the atmosphere, and another over southeast Uttar Pradesh and northeast Madhya Pradesh. A trough line connects these two cyclonic circulations, extending from southern Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh. The area of low pressure over the Arabian Sea will intensify into a depression by Saturday and move northwards. The formation of a new area of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal on 27 May will further accelerate pre-monsoon activities.</p>

<p>On Friday, the maximum temperature in Indore was 34.4°C, and the minimum temperature was 24.1°C. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 36.3°C and the minimum temperature was 23.4°C. The minimum temperature showed an increase. Late Thursday night, many areas experienced light showers with strong winds. <p><strong>Ishan Kishan IPL Record:</strong> Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a resounding 42-run victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 65th match of IPL 2025. This was SRH&#8217;s fifth win, although it doesn&#8217;t change their playoff-eliminated status. However, the victory dealt a significant blow to RCB&#8217;s hopes of reaching Qualifier 1. <p><strong>Paresh Rawal Hera Pheri 3:</strong> A major update has emerged regarding ‘Hera Pheri 3’. Paresh Rawal has returned the advance payment, including interest, to Akshay Kumar’s production company, ‘Cape of Good Films’. The company had filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Rawal for leaving the film, claiming significant losses due to his sudden withdrawal.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The ‘Babu bhaiyaa’ Payment: Understanding the Issue</h2>



<p>According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Rawal’s total fee for the project was set at ₹15 crore. He has reportedly returned the amount already received.</p>



<p>The report states that Rawal had received ₹11 lakh for promotional shoots and other work. However, following his exit from the film, Akshay Kumar’s team demanded the return of this sum, along with interest. News now suggests that Rawal has repaid the entire amount with 15% interest.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reason for Leaving the Film</h2>



<p>It is understood that Rawal objected to a clause in his contract stipulating that his full fee (approximately ₹15 crore) would only be paid one month after the film’s release. With the film’s release tentatively scheduled for 2026 or 2027, this clause implied a lengthy delay in payment, which Rawal found unacceptable.</p>



<p>Currently, there is no official statement from the actor or his team regarding this matter. However, the dispute has halted filming, leaving the project in limbo.</p>

<p>Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: The sweeping changes at railway stations across India are transforming them into rivals for airports. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad station is themed around the Modhera Sun Temple, Dwarka station around the Dwarkadhish Temple, Odisha&#8217;s Balasore station around the Jagannath Temple, and Gurugram station around IT. The influence of Chola architecture is clearly visible at Kumbakonam station in Tamil Nadu.</p>



<p>Seoni railway station in Madhya Pradesh is dedicated to Mowgli, the famous character from Rudyard Kipling&#8217;s timeless work, ‘The Jungle Book’. According to the story, Mowgli was associated with the Seoni region, where he was raised among wolves. In remembrance of the story, the railway station features images of Mowgli, as well as Sher Khan, Bagheera, Baloo, and Akela. The theme of Seoni station brings Mowgli&#8217;s world to life.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Deshnok Station: A Glimpse of Karni Mata Temple</h2>



<p>The architecture of Deshnok station reflects the Karni Mata Temple. The Bundi station showcases the local paintings and a glimpse of the fort. The Fatehpur Shekhawati station complex now displays the region&#8217;s Shekhawati-style paintings and architecture. Local culture has also been taken into account at stations like Gogamedi, Govindgarh, Mandawar-Mahuwa Road, and Mandal-Garh.</p>

<p><strong>Heavy Rain Weather Forecast:</strong> People across India battling scorching heat can expect relief soon. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely in 15 states over the next few days. Furthermore, the southwest monsoon is expected to hit Kerala within the next 48 hours.</p>



<p>The department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for more than 15 states across the country over the next week. The IMD reports suggest that a low-pressure area is expected to form over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the coasts of north Karnataka and Goa. This is expected to move rapidly northwards. Due to this low-pressure area, heavy rainfall is expected along the west coast of Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala.</p>



<p>A red alert has been issued for the Konkan-Goa coast, while an orange alert has been issued for various regions including the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra belt, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and coastal Karnataka. Heavy rainfall is expected in Kerala between 24-26 May and in coastal Karnataka between 24-27 May. Rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue in Kerala and Karnataka for the next seven days.</p>



<p>Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Telangana between 23-27 May; coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 27 May; and Tamil Nadu on 24, 25, and 26 May. In contrast, a severe heatwave situation will persist in parts of western Rajasthan and Gujarat. A heatwave is expected in western Rajasthan between 23-27 May and in eastern Rajasthan between 23-25 May.</p>


<p>The department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in more than 15 states across the country in the coming week. According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the coasts of North Karnataka and Goa.</p>

The argument escalated to the point where the enraged wife severed her husband&#8217;s genitals and then consumed acid. Both husband and wife have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition following this sensational incident.</p>

<p>It is reported that a heated argument occurred between the wife and husband at home on Wednesday night. In a fit of rage, the woman cut off her husband&#8217;s genitals. Shortly after this painful incident, the woman also injured herself by drinking acid kept at home, worsening her condition. She has been admitted to the district hospital in Moradabad.</p>

<p><strong>Indian Players who flopped despite big price:</strong> The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is in its final stages. Only six league matches remain, and four teams have already qualified for the playoffs: Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Mumbai Indians (MI).</p>



<p>However, some teams underperformed this season. A major reason for their failure was the average performance of their star players, especially those acquired for crores of rupees in the mega auction. Let&#8217;s look at five expensive players who disappointed fans and completely flopped throughout the season.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ravichandran Ashwin (Chennai Super Kings) — ₹9.75 crore</h2>



<p>Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who has retired from international cricket, returned to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after a long time this season. The franchise bid ₹9.75 crore for him. It was expected that Ashwin would repeat his magic on the spin-friendly Chepauk pitches.</p>



<p>However, the experienced spinner completely flopped this season. Ashwin took only 7 wickets in 9 matches, with a bowling average of 40.42. His economy rate was also disappointing at 9.12 runs per over. Due to his poor form, the team management dropped him from the playing XI in several matches.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mohammed Shami (Sunrisers Hyderabad) — ₹10 crore</h2>



<p>Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a whopping ₹10 crore in this season&#8217;s mega auction. It was hoped that his experience and ability to swing the new ball would make him a key weapon for SRH. But Shami failed miserably this season.</p>



<p>In the 9 matches he played, Shami took only 6 wickets. His bowling average was a poor 56.16, while his economy rate was a worrying 11.23 runs per over. Due to consistently disappointing performances, the team management dropped him from the playing XI in recent matches. Shami&#8217;s season has been disappointing for both SRH and its fans.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ishan Kishan (Sunrisers Hyderabad) — ₹11.25 crore</h2>



<p>Ishan Kishan, who smashed a whirlwind century at the start of IPL 2025, had high expectations throughout the season. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for a hefty ₹11.25 crore. But after his initial explosive performance, Ishan couldn&#8217;t regain his form, and his season was mediocre.</p>



<p>He scored only 231 runs in 11 innings across 12 matches, at a modest average of 25.67. His strike rate was 140.85, reflecting his aggressive style, but a lack of consistency in scoring runs was evident. Despite the high price tag and responsibility, Ishan failed to lead his team to the top, causing SRH to suffer at crucial moments.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Venkatesh Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders) — ₹23.75 crore</h2>



<p>Venkatesh Iyer&#8217;s bid in the IPL 2025 mega auction surprised everyone. KKR re-signed him for a record ₹23.75 crore, putting immense pressure on him to perform. But the middle-order batsman&#8217;s bat remained very subdued throughout the season.</p>



<p>Iyer scored only 142 runs in 7 innings, at an average of 20.28 and a strike rate of 139.21. His individual scores of 6, 3, 60, 45, 7, 14, and 7 show that he only made an impact in two innings, struggling for the rest. Despite the huge sum, the team was only left disappointed by his performance. It was expected that he would stabilise the innings or score quickly in the middle order, but he lacked consistency and big scores.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants) — ₹27 crore</h2>



<p>Rishabh Pant, the most expensive player in IPL 2025, was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹27 crore. The franchise hoped that Pant would not only win matches with the bat but also lead the team as an inspirational captain. But this season proved extremely disappointing for both Pant and LSG.</p>



<p>In terms of batting, Pant scored only 151 runs in 13 matches at an average of 13.72 and a strike rate of 107.09. These figures are shocking for a player once considered among Team India&#8217;s most explosive batsmen. His bat remained silent throughout the season, and he didn&#8217;t play any impactful innings.</p>



<p>Pant also failed as captain. LSG had a good start to the tournament, but the team lost at crucial moments and was eliminated from the playoff race. A lack of strategic decisions and Pant&#8217;s individual performance failure severely hampered the team&#8217;s prospects.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jobs In UP: 142 Class III posts will also be filled</h2>



<p>In addition to educational posts, 142 Class III posts have also been created, which the state government will fill through promotion. Two Class III employees will be placed in each college. Senior Assistants and Junior Assistants will benefit from the promotion, provided they have completed five years of service, respectively. Additionally, 10 Class IV employees will also be appointed in each college, who will be hired through outsourcing. Thus, a total of 710 Class IV employees are being arranged in 71 colleges. These will include laboratory assistants, office assistants, watchmen, sanitation workers, library assistants, etc.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Assistant Professor Vacancy: Principal Secretary issues order to fill posts</h2>



<p>The Principal Secretary, Higher Education, M.P. Agrawal, has issued an order to fill the posts. The selection process will be through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). Graduation courses like BA, BSc, and BCom are expected to commence soon in these colleges.</p>

<p>खैरथल. राजस्थान माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड ने गुरुवार को 12वीं कक्षा के कला, वाणिज्य और विज्ञान संकाय के नतीजे एकसाथ घोषित कर दिए। रिजल्ट में अलवर, खैरथल-तिजारा और कोटपूतली-बहरोड़ जिलों के कई बच्चों ने चौंकाने वाले परिणाम दिए हैं। खैरथल के एंजल एकेडमी स्कूल की छात्रा कंगना कौशलानी ने 12वीं वाणिज्य वर्ग में 99.20 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त किए हैं। कंगना के पिता गौरव कौशलानी कपड़े के व्यापारी हैं। कंगना वाणिज्य वर्ग में पूरे प्रदेश में टॉपर रही है। कंगना ने ङ्क्षहदी अनिवार्य और अंग्रेजी अनिवार्य में 99-99 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त किए हैं। अकाउंटेंसी में 100 में से 100 अंक प्राप्त किए हैं। बिजनेस स्टडी व मैथमेटिक्स में 99-99 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त किए हैं। कंगना ने कुल 500 में से 496 अंक प्राप्त किए हैं।</p>
