
<p><strong>UPSC NDA NA CDS Exam 2025:</strong> The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened a correction window for candidates who have already applied for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination-II 2025 and the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS)-II, 2025. Candidates can modify their application forms from 7 July to 9 July 2025.</p>

Bihar Voter List SIR: Election Commission Releases List, Here&#39;s How to Check Your Name


<p>Before the Bihar Assembly elections, the Election Commission&#8217;s initiation of a Special Intensive Revision of the voter list has sparked widespread controversy. Opposition parties in Bihar are protesting against it, announcing a Bihar bandh on 8 July. Prior to this, on 7 July, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed against this revision. Meanwhile, the Election Commission uploaded a voter list from 2003, providing relief to 49 million voters concerning this revision programme. Checking your name on this voter list is straightforward.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Check Your Name in the Bihar Voter List</h2>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. NVSP Portal</h2>



<p>1. Voters anywhere in India, including Bihar, can check their names through the NVSP portal.<br>2. Go to the top menu on https://www.nvsp.in.<br>3. Click on &#8216;Search in Electoral Roll&#8217;.<br>4. Or go directly to https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in.<br>5. You will have two options:<br>6. Search by Details (using name, age, district, etc.)<br>7. Search by EPIC Number (Voter ID number)<br>8. Fill in the information such as: Name (both Hindi/English will work), Age/Date of Birth, State: Bihar, District, Assembly Constituency (if known), then click Search.<br>9. If your name is on the voter list, complete information will be displayed on the screen, such as booth name, serial number, EPIC number, etc.</p>

<p><strong>COVID-19 Vaccines and Karnataka Cardiac Deaths:</strong> Recently, there has been much discussion regarding a possible link between COVID-19 vaccines and sudden heart attacks. This debate intensified after statements made by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who hinted at a potential connection between some heart-related deaths in Hassan district and the COVID-19 vaccine. However, an expert panel constituted by the Karnataka government has now issued a conclusive response, seemingly putting an end to all speculation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Experts&#8217; Opinion: Vaccine Offers Protection, Not Risk</h2>



<p>The expert team, led by Dr. K.S. Ravindranath, Director of the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, has clearly stated that they found no direct link between the COVID-19 vaccine and heart-related deaths. Their report suggests the opposite: the COVID-19 vaccine has proven protective against cardiovascular events!</p>



<p>The team conducted an in-depth study on patients aged 45 years or younger admitted to Jayadeva Hospital. This involved a thorough analysis of the patients&#8217; medical history, previous COVID-19 infections, and vaccination status. The study covered a total of 251 patients admitted to the hospital between April 1st and May 31st.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What do the study figures say?</h2>



<p><strong>According to the report, of these 251 patients:</strong></p>



<p>87 had diabetes</p>



<p>102 had hypertension</p>



<p>35 had cholesterol-related problems</p>



<p>40 had a family history of heart disease</p>



<p>111 were smokers</p>



<p>Meanwhile, 77 patients had no conventional risk factors.</p>



<p>It is also interesting to note that 19 patients had previously contracted COVID-19, and of these, 7 suffered from diabetes and 7 from high blood pressure. Most importantly, 249 out of 251 patients had received the COVID-19 vaccine. Of these, 144 received Covishield, 64 received Covaxin, while 52 could not recall which vaccine they had received.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">So what is the cause of sudden deaths?</h2>



<p>The panel clarified in its report that there is no single cause behind sudden cardiac deaths. Rather, it is the result of multiple factors. These include behavioural factors (such as excessive alcohol or drug consumption, or strenuous physical activity within 48 hours of death), genetic factors (family history of sudden death), and environmental risks.</p>



<p>The report also stated that a slight increase in heart-related events may be observed immediately after COVID-19 infection (immediate post-COVID phase) due to increased inflammation in the body, but this does not persist in the long term (more than a year). The panel also ruled out ‘long COVID’ as being responsible for sudden cardiac events.</p>



<p>According to experts, the increasing prevalence of common risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and abnormal cholesterol is the best explanation for the increase in sudden cardiac events.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Political Statements and Scientific Truth</h2>



<p>Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and parties like the BJP strongly reacted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah&#8217;s claims. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that claims of the vaccine being hastily approved were misleading and misinformed the public. She stressed that the vaccine had saved millions of lives and that its development was based on scientific and data-driven processes. The BJP also accused the Chief Minister of spreading fake news, especially since the state government itself is talking about bringing a bill to curb fake news.</p>



<p>This study reiterates that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective. Sudden deaths are often caused by a combination of factors such as lifestyle, genetics, and pre-existing conditions. Therefore, we should rely on scientific facts instead of rumours and adopt a balanced lifestyle to take care of our health. Get regular check-ups from your doctor and consult them about any concerns. <p>A cyber fraud of approximately ₹1800 crore has been perpetrated using the names of tribal students in Dungarpur. This was revealed through a letter written by the Banswara-Dungarpur Member of Parliament (MP) to the Director General of Police (DGP), Rajiv Sharma, and the Finance Minister. According to the letter by MP Rajkumar Roat, some employees of IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and other banks in Dungarpur district contacted college students. Some even set up camps and personally solicited them to open accounts.</p>



<p>Students and their families were enticed with promises of bank accounts, PAN cards, scholarships, educational loans, and government job opportunities. The fraudsters also collected all types of documents from these students and their families but never provided ATM cards or bank passbooks. When some students demanded ATMs, bank officials and employees refused to provide the documents, citing technical glitches.</p>



<p>Subsequently, when students investigated the matter themselves, it was revealed that transactions worth crores of rupees were being conducted through their accounts. When some students complained, the police administration, instead of catching the cyber fraudsters, harassed the affected students and their families.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Demand for Action</h2>



<p>MP Rajkumar Roat stated that the ₹1800 crore fraud in Dungarpur is not limited to this area alone. Similar incidents are emerging in Banswara, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, and other parts of South Rajasthan. He further mentioned that he has written to the DGP and the Finance Minister demanding action.</p>

<p>Bulldozer Action: Political temperatures are running high over the demolition drive underway in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Nayab Singh Saini government in Haryana has also become active in removing illegal encroachments. Under this, notices have been issued to numerous illegal religious sites in Gurugram. These notices state that those who constructed the illegal religious sites have seven days to remove the encroachments themselves; otherwise, the government will use bulldozers to demolish them. This action in Haryana is being taken under a Supreme Court order expressing strong objection to illegal constructions on public land across the country.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Political Upheaval Over Encroachment Action in Delhi</h2>



<p>Following a Supreme Court order, the Delhi government has taken strict action against illegal encroachments, clearing government land by deploying bulldozers in several places. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a major political attack on the Delhi government. The AAP also staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, warning the Delhi government to stop the bulldozer drive. Following this, bulldozer action against illegal encroachments began in Faridabad and Gurugram, bordering Delhi. Initially, the Forest Department used bulldozers to remove illegal encroachments in the Aravalli region.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Haryana Government Takes a Strong Stance Against Illegal Encroachments</h2>



<p>Following orders from the Haryana government, the Gurugram administration has sprung into action. Strict action will now be taken against all illegal religious sites constructed on public land after 29 September 2009. The Gurugram Municipal Corporation has launched a campaign in this regard and is issuing notices to such religious sites that are unauthorisedly constructed on green belts, parks, roads, lanes, pavements, or other public land.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action Taken Pursuant to Supreme Court Order</h2>



<p>This action is being taken in compliance with the decision given by the Supreme Court on 29 September 2009 in the case of <i>Union of India vs. State of Gujarat &amp; Ors. (Special Appeal (Civil) No. 8519/2006)</i>. In this landmark judgment, the Supreme Court clearly stated that no new religious constructions can be permitted on any public land, and where illegal constructions have already taken place, the respective state government will be responsible for removing or relocating them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Order Issued by Haryana&#8217;s Chief Secretary</h2>



<p>The Chief Secretary of the Haryana government has directed all municipal corporations and district administrations to strictly adhere to these instructions. Municipal corporation officials have been explicitly instructed to identify all religious sites constructed after the aforementioned date and those constructed without valid approval. A public notice has also been issued by the corporation and is being displayed in corporation offices and relevant areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notice to Religious Site Operators to Remove Constructions Themselves</h2>



<p>The notice issued by the corporation advises religious site operators to remove the constructions themselves to avoid forceful action by the administration. If they fail to do so, the administration will demolish such constructions using bulldozers. Sites where no religious activities are taking place are planned for immediate removal. For sites where religious activities are ongoing, consultation with the state government will be sought for relocation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claim of Equal Action Across All Religions</h2>



<p>The Chief Secretary has also clarified that this action is not against any one religion or community but will be equally applicable to all religions. This includes temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras, mazars, religious places, and other religious structures. Strict enforcement of the law will be ensured at all such sites. This move has created a stir in the city. Several religious site operators have confirmed receiving notices and have stated their intention to remove the constructions themselves, while some have requested more time from the administration. The coming days will show how transparently and sensitively the administration implements this action.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Alert for the Next 7 Days: IMD Warning</h2>



<p>The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the country for the next 7 days. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Chhattisgarh on 6-7 July and in Vidarbha on 7 July. Heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue in Madhya Pradesh from 6-10 July. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rainfall in Northeast and South India</h2>



<p>Rainfall will continue in the northeastern states for the next 7 days, with very heavy rainfall expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on 6 and 12 July. Heavy rainfall is possible in Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana in South India during 7-12 July.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Warning of Strong Winds and Lightning</h2>



<p>The IMD has warned that strong winds at speeds of 30-50 km/h, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes are possible in several states. People have been urged to remain alert and follow weather department warnings to ensure safety in any emergency.</p>


<p>Weather Update: Several states, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, experienced heavy rainfall in the early morning. The rain has made the weather pleasant. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely in several states over the next seven days.</p>

<p><strong>MP News:</strong> In Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh, heavy rainfall has disrupted daily life. On Sunday night, two cars were swept away one after another in the Sajha nullah near Kirar Ghat, which falls under the Rajendra Gram Marg on the Amarkantak road. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and, with the help of locals, rescued everyone from one car. However, another Swift Dzire car, carrying four members of the same family, was swept away by the strong current of the nullah.</p>



<p>According to the police investigating the matter, the identities of the missing occupants of the second car have been confirmed. The car contained a family from Kirar village – a husband, wife, and two children (a total of four members). The family was returning home after visiting Amarkantak when the floodwaters engulfed their vehicle. While the rescue team recovered the body of the woman late at night, despite searching for about a kilometre and a half, there has been no trace of the husband and two children or the car itself. The search operation is still underway.</p>

<p>The authorities have identified the occupants of the car. According to the administration, the car swept away in the nullah contained 38-year-old Chandrashekhar Yadav, his wife, 37-year-old staff nurse Preeti Yadav, and their two children. All occupants were members of the same family and residents of Kirar village. Late at night, the rescue team recovered the woman&#8217;s body near Sajha in the Bakan river, but there is still no trace of the other three family members or the car.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rescue Operation Ongoing</h2>



<p>While providing information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Moti Ur Rehman stated that the Pushprajgarh SDOP and the highway traffic in-charge were patrolling the Rajendra Gram to Anuppur route when they saw a car lose control and fall from a bridge into the Sajha nullah. They immediately, along with locals, rescued the occupants. Locals then informed them about another car being swept away, carrying a family. Taking the incident seriously, the traffic in-charge informed the rescue team, after which the body of Preeti Yadav was recovered in the middle of the night, while the search for the other members continued.</p>

<p>Farmers eagerly awaiting the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme have reason for optimism. The 20th instalment is expected to be credited to farmers&#8217; accounts on July 18th. While there&#8217;s been no official announcement yet, BJP sources suggest Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bihar on that date.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Possible Transfer on July 18th</h2>



<p>Prime Minister Modi may transfer the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi from Motihari this time. Previously, he transferred the 19th instalment on February 24th, 2025, from Bhagalpur. Similarly, last June, he transferred funds to PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries from Siwan, Bihar. This leads to speculation that the 20th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi might be transferred from Motihari.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PM Modi&#8217;s Bihar Visit</h2>



<p>Prime Minister Modi is currently on a foreign tour and is scheduled to return to India on July 9th. A programme is planned for him in Motihari, Bihar, on July 18th. It is anticipated that PM Narendra Modi will announce several significant initiatives for Bihar on this day, including the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of various projects.</p>



<p>As Prime Minister Modi personally transfers the PM Kisan Nidhi funds, there is a strong possibility of good news for farmers during his Motihari visit. Previously, the 19th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was transferred to the accounts of approximately 9.8 crore farmers on February 24th, 2025, from Bhagalpur. The 18th instalment was transferred from Maharashtra on October 5th, 2024. Similarly, the 17th, 16th, and 15th instalments were transferred from Varanasi, Yavatmal (Maharashtra), and Khunti (Jharkhand), respectively.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligible Farmers in Bihar</h2>



<p>In Bihar, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is expected to benefit 7,612,642 farmers. However, farmers who haven&#8217;t yet completed their farmer registration and e-KYC may face setbacks. The central government has repeatedly urged farmers to complete these processes. Those who haven&#8217;t completed their e-KYC and registration for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi should do so immediately to avoid delays or missing out on benefits.</p>

<p>Each year, the first instalment is disbursed between April 1st and July 31st, the second instalment between August 1st and November 30th, and the third instalment between December 1st and March 31st.</p>

Texas Floods: Death Toll Exceeds 80


<p>Devastating floods, caused by torrential rainfall, have wreaked havoc across numerous countries globally. Texas, in the United States of America, is currently battling severe flooding, with the Texas Hill Country bearing the brunt of the disaster. Torrential downpours between 4th and 6th July caused the Guadalupe River to swell dramatically. The heavy rain was followed by a storm surge, exacerbating the already dire situation. Kerr County, Kendall County, Comal County, Hays County, Guadalupe County, Blanco County, and Gillespie County have been significantly impacted. Cities such as Kerrville, Comfort, Ingram, Hunt, Boerne, New Braunfels, and San Marcos are also severely affected. This flood is being described as one of the most catastrophic in US history. US President Donald Trump has expressed concern over the situation.</p>

<p>Forty-one people remain missing in the aftermath of the floods. This includes several girls participating in a Mystic Summer Camp. Reports indicate that 10 girls and one counsellor from the Mystic Summer Camp are still unaccounted for. The search for all missing persons continues.</p>

<p>The Mystic Summer Camp, attended by approximately 750 girls, has been severely damaged by the floods. While rescue workers have saved most of the girls, four deaths have been confirmed. However, with 10 girls still missing, the death toll is expected to rise.</p>

The makers had previously released a first-look teaser for <em>Kantara: Chapter 1</em>, hinting that the story would begin where the original <em>Kantara</em> film ended, in the jungle. Rishab Shetty, who played Shiva in the film and disappeared into the jungle, promises an even more spectacular continuation of the story.</p>
