<p>According to witnesses, around 11:30 am, Anshul Sharma arrived at the house and attacked Nikkita with a knife. He stabbed her multiple times in the throat, resulting in her immediate death. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene. SP Rajesh S. stated that the knife used in the murder has been recovered from the crime scene. The police formed two teams, arrested the accused Anshul, and are currently interrogating him.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did Nikkita&#8217;s Mother Say?</h2>



<p>According to the deceased&#8217;s mother, upon entering the house, the accused Anshul threatened Nikkita, saying that if she didn&#8217;t marry his brother, he would kill her. Following this, Anshul launched a frenzied attack with a knife, taking her life. When Nikkita&#8217;s mother rushed to save her daughter upon hearing her screams, Anshul also attempted to attack her. Nikkita&#8217;s mother managed to escape and seek help. By then, Anshul had already fled the scene.</p>

<p>Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jaipur today. He is the chief guest at a state-level function commemorating the Rajasthan government&#8217;s first anniversary in Dadia village, near Jaipur. During his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the first phase of the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC)-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several other schemes. This marks PM Modi&#8217;s second visit to Jaipur in nine days; his previous visit was for the inauguration of the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit.</p>



<p>PM Modi is expected to arrive in Jaipur around 11:30 AM and spend over two hours there. The state government has named the event &#8216;Har Ghar Khushhali&#8217; (Prosperity in Every Home). Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will also attend the event.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rs 46,000 Crore worth of projects </h2>



<p>According to reports, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth approximately ₹46,000 crore. These projects include solar parks, power grids, railways, national highways, and various other schemes. Tenders worth approximately Rs 58,000 crore will also be released during this event.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Foundation stone laying ceremony</h2>



<p>The state government has arranged several earthen pots for the PKC-ERCP&#8217;s foundation stone laying ceremony. These pots reportedly contain water from the Parvati, Chambal, and Kalisindh rivers, which may be symbolically combined in the presence of the Prime Minister.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PKC-ERCP to benefit these districts</h2>



<p>The PKC-ERCP project will provide water for agriculture, industries, and drinking purposes to 21 districts in Rajasthan. These districts include Jhalawar, Baran, Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Karauli, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Deeg, Dausa, Alwar, Khairthal-Tijara, Jaipur, Jaipur Rural, Kotputli- Behror, Ajmer, Beawar, Kekri, Tonk, and Dudu.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Project to be implemented in two phases</h2>



<p>The PKC-ERCP project&#8217;s first phase is slated for completion in four years. This phase will involve bringing water from the Naunehra barrage to Bisoolpur and Isarda. This includes the construction of the Ramgarh barrage, Mahalpur barrage, canal network and pumping stations in Naunehra, and a pumping station on the Mej river. The plan for the second phase is currently being finalised.</p>

<p>On the second day of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly session, Meja MLA Sandeep Patel raised questions about the irregularities in the reservation in the 69000 teacher recruitment. He said, “I want to know from the honourable minister what is the fault of those teachers who have been wronged. Until a decision comes from the court, will the government consider making separate provisions for the teachers?” MLA Sandeep Patel also raised questions about the closure of basic education schools.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did the Minister say regarding teacher recruitment?</h2>



<p>He clarified that if the education department feels the need for teachers in the future, the recruitment process will be started. He also said that there is currently no proposal for any kind of teacher recruitment. Regarding the 69000 teacher recruitment, the minister said that our government is taking full initiative in this matter. He also stated that there are no plans to close any school.</p>

CM Yogi's Winter Relief: Night Patrols Ensure Shelter for All Amidst Bitter Cold in Gorakhpur


<p>Given the cold wave and winter season, CM Yogi has launched a special relief campaign for the needy. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has explicitly instructed that no individual should sleep in the open; they should be provided shelter in the nearest night shelters.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Officials shifted people sleeping on the streets to night shelters</h2>



<p>Following the Chief Minister&#8217;s instructions, the administration has launched a campaign of night inspections and visits. Under this initiative, officials have been working to take homeless individuals sleeping on the streets to night shelters. The Relief Commissioner has directed all District Magistrates that no one should sleep in the open during the cold wave, and they should be provided shelter in the nearest night shelters. In this regard, the Gorakhpur district administration has instructed the City Magistrate, Additional City Magistrate, SDM, and Tehsildars to actively participate in the campaign.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ADM Finance, Gorakhpur</h2>



<p>According to Gorakhpur&#8217;s Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) and the officer in charge of disaster management, Vineet Kumar Singh, a large-scale campaign is being conducted daily to help the destitute and poor given the increasing cold. Along with sending those sleeping on the streets to night shelters, blankets and bonfires are also being provided to them. Active inspections have been started from Monday night.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">14 night shelters operating in Gorakhpur city</h2>



<p>Currently, 14 night shelters are operating in the Gorakhpur urban area, four of which were inspected by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 10 December. Furthermore, he also instructed the construction of three new night shelters. Besides Gorakhpur city, a one-night shelter is also operating in each of the Nagar Panchayats.</p>


<p>In the wake of the severe cold and cold wave, the Yogi government has issued a strict order that no homeless person should be found sleeping on the streets at night. </p>

<p><strong>Cricketer G Kamalini Profile:</strong> While the Women&#8217;s Premier League (WPL 2025) mini-auction was underway in Bengaluru, India&#8217;s wicketkeeper-batter, G Kamalini, was making headlines in Kuala Lumpur during the Under-19 Asia Cup, smashing Pakistan&#8217;s hopes. Kamalini played a stellar unbeaten innings of 44 runs against Pakistan on Sunday. This memorable performance marked a significant turning point in her career, culminating in Mumbai Indians placing a Rs 1.6 crore bid on her at the WPL mini-auction.</p>



<p>Surprisingly, Kamalini was a skater until the age of 12, showing no interest in cricket. However, the lockdown dramatically changed her life.</p>



<p>During the 2020 nationwide lockdown, Kamani&#8217;s father, Gunalan, used to play cricket outside their home with his son. One day, he asked his 12-year-old daughter, Kamani, to bowl. Her father was astonished by her natural talent, despite her having never played cricket before, only regularly practising skating.</p>

<p>Due to the lack of proper cricket training facilities in Madurai, Kamani&#8217;s family relocated to Chennai. She was soon selected for the Chennai Super Kings academy, impressing the coaching staff with her hard work and dedication. She was subsequently chosen for the Tamil Nadu Under-19 team and was also recognised as Tamil Nadu&#8217;s best young female cricketer.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A century after Father&#8217;s Surgery</h2>



<p>Kamani credits her father as her biggest strength. She recounts a period where she feared losing him, but thankfully, he recovered. Following her father&#8217;s heart surgery, she played in a match between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh the very next day and scored a century, demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Becoming a Wicketkeeper in Six Months</h2>

The bank has announced a <strong>bumper vacancy for the post of Junior Associate</strong> (Customer Support and Sales), with 13,735 positions available. The application process commenced on 17 December 2024, and the last date to apply is 7 January 2025. All interested candidates can apply through the official SBI website.</p>

<p>The recruitment process involves a two-tier written examination. The preliminary examination will be held in February 2025, while the main examination will be conducted in March/April 2025. <p><strong>Delhi International Airport:</strong> Delhi International Airport has achieved a significant milestone. It has become the first airport in India to connect to 150 destinations, solidifying its position as a global aviation hub. This follows the recent launch of direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK) by Thai AirAsia X.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">India&#8217;s First Airport to Connect 150 Destinations</h2>



<p>Operated by an Airbus A330 aircraft, this route will initially run twice a week. Plans are underway to double its frequency to four times a week by mid-January 2025. Commenting on this achievement, DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar expressed his delight, stating that connecting 150 destinations is a testament to their unwavering commitment to enhancing global connectivity and providing a world-class travel experience.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Delhi Airport Creates a New Record</h2>



<p>Videh Kumar further added that they are all proud to be taking India into a new era of aviation and are dedicated to becoming the preferred hub for travellers worldwide. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) emphasised its continuous efforts to expand global connectivity. In recent years, the airport has added over 20 exclusive international destinations. This expansion aims to increase travel options for those travelling across continents.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Number of Airports Doubled in 10 Years</h2>



<p>According to recent information provided by the Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, the number of operational airports in the country has more than doubled in the last 10 years. In 2014, flights operated from 74 airports, while in 2024, air services were operating from 158 airports across the country. Simultaneously, under the UDAN scheme, air services have been successfully launched on 613 routes. 87 airports have been added, boosting regional connectivity.</p>


<p>This follows the recent launch of direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK) by Thai AirAsia X.</p>

Ankit Rajpoot Announces Retirement from Cricket at 31


<p>Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Ankit Rajpoot, who has played for several teams including the Indian Premier League (IPL), has announced his retirement from Indian cricket at the age of 31. Rajpoot represented four IPL teams, along with various domestic teams and the Rest of India, but never got the opportunity to play international cricket. He shared the news of his retirement via social media.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gratitude on Instagram</h2>



<p>In his Instagram post, Rajpoot wrote, &#8220;Today, with humility, I announce my retirement from Indian cricket. My journey from 2009 to 2024 has been the most glorious phase of my life.&#8221; He expressed his gratitude to the BCCI, UPCA, Kanpur Cricket Association, CSK, KKR, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, and LSG for the opportunities provided. He also thanked his teammates, coaches, physio Dr Saif Naqvi, coach Shashi Sir, and support staff, stating, &#8220;Because of all of you, I was able to realise my dreams.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rajpoot to Remain Involved in Cricket</h2>



<p>Rajpoot further wrote, &#8220;I thank all the fans who supported me during my ups and downs. I thank my family and friends for their unconditional love and support throughout my career. It is because of them that I have achieved anything. I am happy to announce that I will now be exploring new opportunities in the world of cricket and its business side. This is the next step in my journey as a cricketer, and I eagerly await it.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">IPL Debut with CSK</h2>



<p>Ankit Rajpoot made his IPL debut on 6 April 2013 for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians. His last IPL match was on 25 October 2020 for Rajasthan Royals, also against Mumbai Indians. He played a total of 29 IPL matches. Throughout his career, he also played 80 first-class and 50 List-A matches. He may now be seen playing in leagues for retired cricketers.</p>

From Rajasthan Village to UPSC: Farmer&#39;s Son Achieves Remarkable Success


<p><strong>Success Story Of a Farmer&#8217;s Son:</strong> Rajasthan is brimming with talent. Mayank Choudhary, a resident of Chainpuriya, a small village in <strong>Baran district</strong>, proved this by clearing the UPSC exam. Hailing from a farming family, Mayank Choudhary has become an officer by passing the UPSC IES, one of the country&#8217;s toughest examinations. He secured the 44th rank in the Union Public Service Commission&#8217;s Engineering Services.</p>



<p>Mayank Choudhary&#8217;s father is a farmer, and his mother is a homemaker. His schooling was in Baran. He passed his 10th-grade examination from Baran Kendriya Vidyalaya in 2015. Afterwards, he went to Kota to prepare for the JEE examination and cracked the IIT in his first attempt. However, aiming for a better rank, he took the exam again and studied Civil Engineering at <strong>IIT Bombay</strong>. After obtaining his B.Tech degree, he started preparing for the UPSC in Delhi. Before UPSC, Mayank Choudhary was also selected by IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited). He joined as a Marketing Officer in Vadodara, Gujarat.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">His Path to Success</h2>



<p>Mayank cleared both the preliminary and mains examinations of the UPSC Civil Services in his first attempt. However, due to some shortcomings in the interview, he was not selected. Undeterred, he secured the 44th rank in the UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024.</p>
