
<p><strong>Road Accident IPS Died:</strong> In a tragic road accident, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Harshvardhan, who was going to take charge of his first posting in Karnataka&#8217;s Hassan district, has died. The 26-year-old Harshvardhan, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was a 2023 batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre. The tyre of the police vehicle in which he was travelling allegedly burst, and the driver lost control. The vehicle collided with a house and a tree by the roadside. Harshvardhan suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment in the hospital. The driver sustained minor injuries in the incident.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘This Should Not Have Happened’- CM Siddaramaiah</h2>



<p>Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah extended his condolences to the family, expressing his sorrow over the tragic death of probationary IPS officer Harshvardhan in an accident on the Hassan-Mysore highway. He lamented that such an incident occurred just as years of hard work were about to bear fruit, emphasising the unfortunate timing as Harshvardhan was set to take charge as an IPS officer. The Chief Minister offered prayers for the officer’s soul to find peace and conveyed his sympathies to the family.</p>

<p><strong>Rahul Gandhi Sambhal Visit: </strong>Following the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who were on their way to meet the affected families, have been stopped at the Ghazipur border. Rajasthan crash: Five killed in Churu two-car collision


<p>Churu Road Accident: A major road accident occurred in Churu district of Rajasthan late at night. 5 people died in a head-on collision between two cars. At the same time, 2 people were injured. The accident occurred around 2:30 pm. As soon as the police received the information, they reached the spot. The police admitted the injured to a nearby hospital, where one of the injured was referred to Bikaner in critical condition.</p>



<p>According to the police, the road accident occurred on the Hanumangarh Road Mega Highway near the Bukansar Phanta. At the time of the accident, there were 6 people in the Safari car. Out of which 5 people died. At the same time, one seriously injured person is undergoing treatment at PBM Hospital in Bikaner. Apart from this, another injured person is undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Churu district.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5 killed, one injured referred to Bikaner</h2>



<p>As soon as the police received the information, they reached the spot. With the help of local people, the police managed to pull out the people trapped in the car after a lot of effort. Due to the critical condition, the police took the injured to the hospital in a police jeep. The doctors declared 5 people dead. Apart from this, one injured person was referred to Bikaner. At the same time, one injured person is undergoing treatment at the government hospital.</p>



<p>The deceased include 3 from Dungargarh, 2 from Sardarshahr, and 1 from Sikar.</p>



<p>The accident was so severe that the front parts of both vehicles were destroyed. The police first took the injured to the hospital and then used a crane to move the cars to the side of the road. The accident caused a traffic jam on the Meva Highway for about an hour. The police cleared the jam and restored traffic.</p>

CBSE exams set for major change: Students may soon choose basic or advanced for Science and Social Science


<p><strong>CBSE Big Decision:</strong> There is going to be a big change in CBSE board examinations. Like Maths, students will now be able to choose between Basic and Advanced levels in Science and Social Science subjects. Basic means a bit easy and Advanced means difficult exams. Until now, this option was only available for Mathematics.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">This Change will be implemented from 2026</h2>



<p>National Education Policy (NEP 2020) is likely to approve this decision soon. This initiative was approved by CBSE&#8217;s curriculum committee recently. Now, it is waiting for the approval of the governing body. Once approved, it will be implemented. This initiative is part of NEP 2020 and will be implemented from the academic session 2026-27.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CBSE is Considering</h2>



<p>CBSE says that work is underway on this plan, and it will depend on new textbooks to determine whether different levels can be created or not. It is also being considered whether separate textbooks should be created for Standard and Advanced levels or whether one book can be used to create two different sets of question papers.</p>

<p>Currently, CBSE is providing two options in Maths subject &#8211; Basic and Advanced. For the 2023-24 exam, around 15 lakh students registered for Advanced level Maths, while around 6 lakh students applied for Basic level.</p>

<p><strong>WI vs BAN: </strong>Bangladesh has made history by wiping away a 15-year-old stain of defeat on West Indies&#8217; soil. Not only has Bangladesh won its first Test match against the West Indies on their turf since 2009, but it has also levelled the series 1-1. This victory has improved its statistics, with three wins in the last six Tests. Before this series, Bangladesh had defeated Pakistan in two Tests at home. Although it later lost two matches to India, it has now bounced back with a triumph over the West Indies. Bangladesh secured a 101-run victory in Jamaica, dismissing the West Indies for under 200 runs in both innings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">First Test series levelled</h2>



<p>Bangladesh and West Indies have played 11 Test series so far, with Bangladesh winning two and West Indies winning eight. However, this series has ended 1-1. Bangladesh had last won a Test match on West Indies&#8217; soil in 2009 when it also won the series 2-0. However, the team had been desperate for a win on West Indies&#8217; soil since then.</p>



<p>Talking about the match, Bangladesh had scored only 164 runs in the first innings, which put the team in a difficult position. However, Bangladesh bowled out West Indies for 146 runs in the second innings, with Nayeem Hasan taking five wickets. Bangladesh then scored 268 runs in its second innings and set a target of 286 runs for West Indies.</p>

<p>In response, West Indies&#8217; second innings also ended at 185 runs. Taijul Islam was the star performer for Bangladesh. The auction house &#8216;Bonhams&#8217; said that Bradman wore this cap during India&#8217;s 1947-48 Australian tour, which is almost 80 years old. This was his last Test series on home soil. According to reports, Bradman had gifted this cap to Indian team manager Pankaj &#8216;Peter&#8217; Kumar Gupta.</p>

After adding the auction fee, the amount increased to 2.63 crore rupees. This has become one of the most expensive cricket memorabilia ever sold.</p>

<p>At least 56 people have been killed in a crush at a football match in Guinea&#8217;s second-largest city, Nzérékoré, the government says.</p>



<p>The match was played between Labé and N&#8217;zérékoré as part of a local tournament in honour of Guinea&#8217;s military leader, Mamady Doumbouya.</p>



<p>The situation spiralled out of control after a disputed penalty decision, leading to clashes between fans. Security forces used tear gas and stone-pelting to control the situation, causing panic among the spectators. Many people, including children, were seen jumping over high walls to escape the chaos.</p>

Bharatpur news: Rickshaw puller&#39;s son to represent state in Under-16 cricket team


<p>The Bharat Cricket Control Board (BCCI) has selected Ashish Prajapat, a talented player from the district, for the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy to be held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh from December 6. Ashish is a right-arm off-spinner and middle-order batsman and has previously taken 37 wickets in the Under-16 Challenger Trophy and state-level cricket tournaments.</p>



<p>Based on his excellent performance, Ashish has been selected for the Rajasthan team. According to the Secretary of the District Cricket Association, Shatrughan Tiwari, the Rajasthan team will play five matches against other state teams. The commission has changed the dates of two recruitment exams that were previously scheduled. The main exam for the posts of Sub-Inspector of Civil Police, Intelligence, PAC, and IRB, which was earlier scheduled to be held on December 15, 2024, will now be held on January 12, 2025.</p>

<p>Apart from these exams, the Fire Services Second Officer exam will now be held on 9th February. Additionally, the preliminary exam for the posts of Review Officer Accounts in the Uttarakhand Secretariat and Uttarakhand Lake Service Commission will take place on 25th January. Several other exams, however, remain unaffected, with no changes to their dates.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">UKPSC Exam Date: No Change in the Dates of These Exams</h2>



<p>There has been no change in the dates of several exams. The Technical Education Department&#8217;s exam will be held on January 18 and 19. The Principal Polytechnic exam will be held on March 30, the Agriculture Engineering exam on April 17, and the Election Commission&#8217;s Review Officer exam on April 17. The Lecturer, Government Polytechnic exam will be held on February 22. Additionally, the Forest Department&#8217;s Range Officer exam will be held on May 18, and the Chemical Engineering exam on May 30.</p>
