Madhya Pradesh: Public holidays on 12th and 26th February, banks and schools closed


<p><strong>Public Holidays:</strong> Employees in Madhya Pradesh will receive two holidays in February, both falling on Wednesdays. According to the Madhya Pradesh government calendar, 12 February and 26 February will be public holidays. Schools, colleges, banks, and all government offices will be closed during this period. </p>



<p>According to the Madhya Pradesh government&#8217;s holiday list, 12 February will be a public holiday. For information, 12 February, Wednesday, is Sant Ravidas Jayanti. Similarly, 26 February 2025, Wednesday, will also be a holiday on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">68 Optional Holidays</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that the government has declared 68 optional holidays in the official calendar for the year 2025. Each government employee will be granted three days of leave from these 68 optional holidays; no more than that will be allowed.</p>

Kumar Vishwas on Kejriwal’s Defeat: ‘Justice has been served’


<p><strong>Jaipur.</strong> Transport and Road Safety Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairava stated in the Vidhan Sabha on Friday that the state government is taking concrete and effective steps to resolve the traffic congestion problem in Jaipur city caused by the operation of illegal vehicles. He said that for the streamlined operation of e-rickshaws, the city has been divided into 6 zones, creating clusters based on police station areas, and a notification was issued on October 15, 2024, determining the number of e-rickshaws in each zone.</p>



<p>The Transport and Road Safety Minister was responding to supplementary questions asked by a member during the question hour. He said that parking and charging locations have also been identified in the 6 zones operating e-rickshaws and a letter was written to the Department of Information Technology and Communication on January 28 to issue zone-wise QR codes to e-rickshaws.</p>



<p>He said that currently, a total of 45,508 e-rickshaws are registered in the Regional Transport Offices Jaipur I and II. He assured the House that action is being ensured with the coordination of all concerned departments to tackle the traffic congestion situation in the city.</p>



<p>Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Balmukundacharya, the Transport and Road Safety Minister informed that the traffic pressure increases during special events and peak hours in Jaipur city, and additional deployment by the traffic police is done at traffic-congested locations to manage traffic. Action is being taken against vehicle drivers violating traffic rules in Jaipur city under the M.V. Act as per the rules.</p>



<p>He informed that in 2024, 7,183 challans were issued by the Transport Department and 255,129 challans by the Traffic Police against illegal vehicles for violating the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the related rules.</p>

<p>SP leader Udayvir Singh, questioning the election results, said that this is a victory of the alliance between the BJP and the Election Commission. He alleged that presiding officers cast an additional 15 per cent votes in favour of the BJP, and SP agents were evicted. He said: “The government openly resorted to hooliganism through the administration and police, which is evident to all. The SP sent a complaint to the Election Commission with evidence of this rigging, but no action was taken. The Election Commission has become inactive, so the SP sent it a shroud. The SP will now go among the people and expose both the BJP and the Election Commission.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘SP&#8217;s Lok Sabha arrogance is shattering’</h2>



<p>BJP leader Dinesh Sharma said: “The positive outcome in Milkipur symbolises the shattering arrogance of the Samajwadi Party regarding the Lok Sabha. Many areas were affected by rumours at the time, but now Milkipur has accepted the BJP&#8217;s work in reality. The Samajwadi Party should accept its defeat. Their (opposition&#8217;s) arrogance is also breaking in Delhi. The Yamuna river will be cleaned when the BJP government is formed.”</p>

<p><strong>Dholpur:</strong> Acting on a tip-off about human trafficking, the Mahila Thana police raided a house and rescued a two-month-old baby girl, arresting the accused woman. Preliminary questioning revealed that the woman claimed to have bought the baby from Delhi for ₹1.50 lakh.</p>



<p>It was learned that the baby was born two months ago at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and her parents are residents of Sikkim. The police stated that the arrested woman has links to sex trafficking rings operating in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand. The police are searching for other members of the accused woman&#8217;s network.</p>



<p>Deputy Superintendent of Police (City), Munish Meena, said that Mahila Thana in-charge, Chhabi Faujdar, received information that Neetu Chhari, a resident of Rao Sahab Ka Wada, Gadarpura in the city, had brought a baby girl on February 4th. Following this information, the police, led by the station house officer, raided the house. Neetu Chhari and the baby girl, whose name was given as Laado (changed), were found there.</p>



<p>The police demanded the baby&#8217;s birth documents, which she could not provide. She initially told the police that the baby was born in Peehar Chandel. Inconsistencies in her statements aroused suspicion. Upon further questioning, she confessed to buying the baby from Delhi for ₹1.50 lakh. The investigation revealed her links to a human trafficking ring. A case has been registered, and the investigation is underway.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Girls Sold Using Forged Documents</h2>



<p>The CO stated that the arrested woman is connected to a human trafficking ring. He explained that the gang creates forged documents and sells girls to brothels for large sums of money. The police said that they are trying to uncover the network by taking the accused into remand. The investigation has been assigned to SI Mahesh Kumar.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, an examination of the accused woman&#8217;s mobile phone revealed several photographs of children. The police are questioning her about these photographs. CO Meena said that a team has been sent to Delhi with the two-month-old baby to obtain records from Safdarjung Hospital. He added that the gang has links to other human trafficking networks.</p>

<p><strong>CG Weather Update:</strong> Last week, a rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures led to a significant increase in heat, prompting people to store away their blankets, sweaters, and jackets. It seemed as though the cold had completely disappeared. However, a drop in maximum temperatures, particularly from Thursday onwards, has led to a change in weather patterns. Both day and night temperatures have decreased, resulting in a return to colder conditions.</p>



<p>Consequently, people have had to retrieve their warm clothes. The fluctuation in maximum and minimum temperatures continues. However, for almost a week before Thursday, it felt as though summer had arrived in full force. The intense sunshine during the day caused profuse sweating, and even the nights remained warm. There was much discussion amongst people about the unusually early and intense heat, with concerns about what the rest of the summer might bring.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Possibility of a Drop in Minimum Temperatures</h2>



<p>According to the weather department, the decrease in temperature is due to the dissipation of moisture and the arrival of cool, dry winds. A slight drop in minimum temperatures is expected in the next 24 hours, followed by a subsequent rise.</p>

<p>Villagers in Jhunjhunu district have once again locked the government school, protesting against the indecent act committed by a teacher against a female student. Twenty days after the incident, the villagers staged a demonstration demanding the dismissal and arrest of the accused teacher. They have vowed to continue their protest until their demands are met.</p>



<p>The incident of indecent behaviour with a female student at a government school in the Malsiesar sub-division came to light about twenty days ago. Following the incident, the department suspended the teacher, Manoj Kumar Beniwal. However, the villagers demand that the accused teacher be dismissed and arrested. To press this demand, the villagers locked the school on Friday morning and began a sit-in protest.</p>



<p>Upon receiving information, Malsiesar Tehsildar Mahesh Ola, CBEO Rajendra Kumar, and Police Station Officer Sukhdev Singh Charan arrived at the scene and attempted to persuade the villagers. However, the villagers refused to unlock the school.</p>



<p>Earlier, the villagers had also submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Education Officer, demanding the dismissal of teacher Manoj Kumar Beniwal. They also demanded the transfer of the school&#8217;s principal and vice-principal, but no action has been taken yet.</p>

<p><strong>Rohit Sharma, India vs England 1st ODI:</strong> Indian captain Rohit Sharma is going through the worst phase of his career. After struggling in Test cricket, he is now seen struggling in ODI cricket as well. His poor form before the Champions Trophy is a major concern for the Indian team management. The Indian captain has not even reached double figures in his last six innings.</p>



<p>On Thursday, at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, Rohit completely flopped. He returned to the pavilion after scoring just 2 runs off 7 balls. He was caught by Liam Livingstone off the bowling of England&#8217;s fast bowler Saqib Mahmood. In his last 16 innings across all three formats, Rohit has scored 166 runs at a poor average of 10.37. During this period, Rohit scored 6, 5, 23, 8, 2, 52, 0, 8, 18, 11, 3, 6, 10, 3, 9, and 2 runs. He only managed to score 20 or more runs only twice in those 16 innings.</p>



<p>Talking about the match, India defeated England by four wickets with 68 balls to spare, thanks to excellent bowling from Ravindra Jadeja (3 wickets) and Harshit Rana (3 wickets), and half-centuries from Shubman Gill (87), Axar Patel (52), and Shreyas Iyer (59). With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.</p>



<p>India&#8217;s innings started poorly, losing two wickets for just 19 runs in response to England&#8217;s 248. Captain Rohit Sharma (2) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (15) were dismissed. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer then steadied the innings, putting on a 94-run partnership for the third wicket. This partnership was broken in the 16th over when Jacob Bethell bowled Iyer LBW. Shreyas Iyer played a knock of 59 runs off 36 balls, including nine fours and two sixes.</p>



<p>Axar Patel then joined Gill and the pair added a strong 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Adil Rashid broke this partnership in the 34th over, bowling Axar Patel. Axar Patel scored 52 runs off 47 balls, including six fours and a six.</p>



<p>Adil Rashid then dismissed KL Rahul (2) caught off his own bowling, giving India their fifth blow. Saqib Mahmood then dealt a major blow to India, dismissing Shubman Gill (87), who was caught by Buttler, as he was nearing a century. Gill played a crucial innings of 87 runs off 96 balls, including 14 fours. India reached 251 for 6 in 38.4 overs, winning the match by four wickets. Ravindra Jadeja (12) and Hardik Pandya (9) remained unbeaten. Jadeja hit the winning boundary off Saqib Mahmood&#8217;s bowling.</p>

Earlier today, at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bat first. England&#8217;s opening pair of Phil Salt and Ben Duckett made a brilliant start, putting on a 75-run partnership for the first wicket.</p>



<p>In the ninth over, wicketkeeper KL Rahul ran out Phil Salt, giving India their first breakthrough. Phil Salt scored 43 runs off 26 balls, including five fours and three sixes. In the very next over, Harshit Rana dismissed Ben Duckett (32), giving England their second blow. In the same over, Harshit Rana dismissed Harry Brook (0), giving India their third success.</p>



<p>In the 19th over, Ravindra Jadeja bowled Joe Root (19). In the 36th over, Harshit Rana had Liam Livingstone (5) caught by wicketkeeper KL Rahul, giving India their sixth success. <p>Alwar: A speeding truck hit a motorbike from behind near Mannaka Mod in the Vaishali Nagar police station area on Friday morning at about 10:30 am. Three people were on the motorbike. Kasam Khan (45) and his wife, Sahila (40), died on the spot.</p>



<p>Kasam&#8217;s sister, Zubeida (40), who was also on the bike, was seriously injured. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop. The footage shows the truck dragging the motorbike. Eyewitnesses said the truck driver dragged Kasam for about 60 metres.</p>



<p>His motorbike was found about 500 metres from the accident site. After the accident, the truck driver attempted to flee with the truck, but seeing the crowd, he abandoned the vehicle and escaped. The police have seized the truck.</p>



<p>Zubeida&#8217;s son-in-law&#8217;s relative had died in Samola. Kasam had left his village on his motorbike with his wife to attend the funeral. He then picked up his sister, Zubeida, from her in-laws&#8217; house in Kithur. All three were going to Samola on the same motorbike. The deceased, Kasam, was the only son of his parents. He had four children – two sons and two daughters. He supported his family by selling milk and farming.</p>

<p>Kasam Khan, a resident of Haji Rahman ki Dhani near Palpur Tiraha in Tijara, was going towards Samola on his motorbike with his wife, Sahila, and sister, Zubeida. The accident occurred near Mannaka Mod. Zubeida suffered two fractures in her right leg. She was referred to Jaipur, but her family took her to a private hospital in the city.</p>



<p>Dr Manoj Sharma, HOD of the Forensic Department at the District Hospital, said that the deceased, Kasam, had suffered serious injuries to his head, chest, and abdomen. His head was crushed, and there were drag marks on his abdomen. Sahila had serious injuries to her chest and abdomen.</p>


<p>The CCTV footage shows the truck dragging the motorbike. Eyewitnesses said the truck driver dragged Kasam for about 60 metres.</p>

<p>Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor: Big news has emerged for 17 villages in Madhya Pradesh. The Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor plan has been announced. The notification has been issued by the Indore office of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation. A list of plot numbers (khasra numbers) of the lands included has also been released, with a 30-day window for claims and objections.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Economic Corridor to be built on 3200 acres</h2>



<p>An economic corridor of 3200 acres will be built on the Indore-Pithampur stretch. The provisions of the Land Pooling Act will be used for this. A model logistics park is also being implemented, incorporating 255 acres of land.</p>



<p>It may be noted that some time ago, the land acquisition process was challenged in the Supreme Court by landowners. Following this, on the government&#8217;s orders, it was decided to give double the compensation to 85 farmers. A new award was then passed, approving a sum of ₹30.52 crore. Later, the High Court also dismissed the stay. This logistics park is just 30 kilometres from Indore Airport and the city. ₹1100 crore is being spent on it. This includes 22 hectares of government land and 90 hectares of private land.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Over ₹2000 crore to be spent</h2>



<p>Lands on both sides of the economic corridor have been included. A 30-day period has been given for claims and objections regarding the lands. These include Kordiawardi, Nanod, Rijlay, Bislavda, Navda Panth, Shriram Talawali, Sindora, Sindori, Shivkhera, Narlay, Moklay, Dehri, Sonvay, Bhainslay, Bagoda, Teehi and Dhannad. Their Khasra numbers have also been published. Over ₹2000 crore will be spent on the development work of this corridor.</p>


<p>The notification has been issued by the Indore office of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation. </p>

<p>Actor and social activist Sonu Sood has broken his silence on reports of an arrest warrant issued against him in a fraud case. Recently, news surfaced that a Ludhiana court issued an arrest warrant against Sonu Sood in an alleged fraud case.</p>



<p>The warrant was issued by Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur of Ludhiana. The 51-year-old actor was summoned to testify in the case but failed to appear in court. Subsequently, the magistrate issued the arrest warrant.</p>



<p>The court order stated, “Sonu Sood was served with a summons and a warrant, but he failed to appear before the court. You are ordered to arrest Sonu Sood and produce him before the court.”</p>
