The parade was a spectacular confluence of India&#8217;s diversity and military prowess. Units from the Army, Navy, and Air Force demonstrated their discipline and strength.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rafale and BrahMos Steal the Show</h2>



<p>A highlight of this year&#8217;s parade was the display of the Indian Army&#8217;s advanced capabilities. Six Rafale jets flew in a Vajrang formation. Additionally, three Sukhoi-30 jets soared through the sky in a Trishul formation. A single Rafale jet, in a Vijay formation, flew at a speed of 900 km/h at an altitude of just 300 meters, showcasing exceptional power and control. The BrahMos missile, the formidable Pinaka rocket system, and other state-of-the-art weapon systems also enhanced the parade&#8217;s grandeur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Display of Culture and Unity</h2>



<p>The parade equally showcased India&#8217;s rich cultural heritage. Tableaux from various states presented a unique example of India&#8217;s diversity and unity. Traditional dances, music, and folk arts captivated the audience. This year, the tableaux representing Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu were particularly appreciated.</p>

<p>The parade at Kartavya Path presented a stunning confluence of the nation&#8217;s military power and cultural richness. Maha Kumbh 2025: Amit Shah Takes Holy Dip at Sangam


<p><strong>Maha Kumbh 2025:</strong> Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Prayagraj on 27 February and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mahamandaleshwar Avadheshanand Giri of the Juna Akhara, and yoga guru Baba Ramdev.</p>



<p>After the Sangam snan (holy dip), Amit Shah will have a meal with the sadhus and saints at the Juna Akhara. Shah will spend approximately 5 hours at the Mahakumbh.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">13 Crore Devotees Take the Dip in 16 Days</h2>



<p>According to the government, over 13 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam during the first 16 days of Mahakumbh 2025. On Makar Sankranti, over 3.5 crore devotees, saints, and ascetics participated in the Amrit Snan (holy dip). A notable feature of this Mahakumbh was the presence of all four Shankaracharyas from the different Peethas for the first time, who also met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.</p>

<p><strong>MP News:</strong> Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr Mohan Yadav hoisted the Tricolour at a ceremony held in Indore&#8217;s Nehru Stadium. Following this, he observed cultural programmes performed by school children. During this time, CM Mohan announced that two megacities would be created by combining several cities. He also highlighted the achievements of the state government.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Nine Districts to be Combined to Create Two Megacities</h2>



<p>The CM stated that Ujjain, Indore, Dewas, and Dhar will be combined to form one megacity. Similarly, Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Rajgarh will be merged to create another. Discussions regarding the formation of these two megacities have been ongoing for several months. This development is expected to boost economic growth in the surrounding rural areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1450-Kilometre-Long Shriram Van Gaman Path to be Constructed</h2>



<p>CM Mohan announced the decision to construct a 1450-kilometre-long Shriram Van Gaman Path in the state. A plan has also been formulated to connect pilgrimage sites associated with the life of Lord Krishna through the creation of a ‘Shri Krishna Pathey’. He expressed his happiness at the state&#8217;s rich history connected to Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, stating that the government aims to revive this glorious chapter in the state&#8217;s history. The construction of a Gita Bhavan in every urban body has also been approved.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government to Manage Public Transport</h2>



<p>The CM further stated that Madhya Pradesh was the only state in the country where the absence of a government-run public transport system had led to reliance on private operators. The government has now decided to manage public transport itself, ensuring connectivity from village to village. This will strengthen transport infrastructure in both megacities and rural areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Central Government&#8217;s Focus on State Development</h2>



<p>The Chief Minister acknowledged the central government&#8217;s support in various projects, including the metro train project and the Indore-Manmad rail line. The central government has sanctioned ₹3500 crore for national highways. Projects worth ₹350 crore, including an elevated corridor in Indore, have also been approved. Permission has been granted to upgrade the Bhopal-Kanpur economic corridor to a four-lane highway. Significant progress has also been made in expanding aviation services.</p>

<p>Pushkar-Merta Rail Line Project: Work has commenced on the first package of the much-anticipated 60km Pushkar-Merta rail line. The project work will begin from Pushkar railway station.</p>



<p>In the first phase, work worth approximately ₹100 crore has been underway for a fortnight. This package includes the construction of the railway station, underpasses, bridges, and buildings. Subsequently, in the second phase, the main track laying will be undertaken at a cost of ₹600 crore.</p>



<p>Following administrative and financial approvals from the government, the commencement of work in Pushkar on the first phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line has further strengthened the hopes of those eagerly awaiting its completion. Work on the ground has begun after the completion of land acquisition, underbridges, overbridges, and surveys.</p>



<p>In fact, the railway line coming from Ajmer had been laid up to Pushkar and then work was stopped. After various obstacles and a long wait of several years, work has finally resumed in Pushkar.</p>

<p>The Ministry of Railways has prepared a map of the fields through which the rail line will pass in Pushkar and Pisangan tehsils of Ajmer district and Merta and Riyambdi tehsils of Nagaur district and has issued a notification of Khasra numbers for land acquisition. Objections have been invited. The Pushkar-Merta rail line will pass through 23 villages in Merta, Riyambdi, and Pushkar tehsils.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Villages through which the rail line will pass</h2>



<p>The much-awaited Merta-Pushkar rail line will pass through 23 villages including Nand, Rawat Nand, Rawatkhera, Kodh, Kodia, Purohitasani, Riyambdi, Suriyas, Bhainsda Kalan, Katyasani, and others, starting from Pushkar.</p>



<p>With the commencement of work on the first phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line, which is significant from a religious and tourism perspective, a positive expectation has been generated among lakhs of people in Nagaur and Ajmer districts. The completion of this line will give a tremendous boost to tourism.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work included in the first package</h2>



<p>Suresh Punglia, the contractor of the contracting company for the Pushkar-Merta rail line, informed that the first package, worth approximately ₹100 crore, has commenced with the construction of quarters, buildings, and offices in Pushkar. Simultaneously, work is also underway to widen the railway track by 10 cm. The contractor stated that under this package, underpasses will be constructed at all road crossings, along with two large bridges, and the construction of stations in Bhainsda and Nand, and the expansion of the Pushkar railway station.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work to be undertaken in the second phase</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the second phase of the Pushkar-Merta rail line will involve work worth approximately ₹600 crore. This includes earthwork for the rail line and track laying. This work will be crucial. The project is expected to be completed within three years.</p>



<p>Work commenced in Pushkar in the first phase after the financial approval. Construction of quarters and buildings began 15 days ago. Wayanad: Tiger Mauling Prompts Curfew in Wayanad


<p>Following a tiger attack in Wayanad district, the parliamentary constituency of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, the government has imposed a 48-hour curfew in parts of Mananthavady municipality. The curfew, which came into effect at 6 am today, will continue for the next 48 hours. Authorities are concerned after the tiger killed a 47-year-old woman. It has been declared a man-eater, and plans are underway to eliminate it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Schools Closed</strong></h2>



<p>According to a statement released by the authorities, all schools, anganwadis, madrasas, and tuition centres will remain closed in the curfew-affected areas—Division 1 (Pancharakoli), Division 2 (Pilkav), and Division 36 (Chirakkara). Students studying in the affected areas will be excused from attending classes on 27 and 28 January.</p>



<p>Additionally, those participating in PSC exams or other academic examinations are advised to contact their respective ward councillors to make necessary arrangements.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Woman Killed</strong></h2>



<p>On Friday morning, a 47-year-old woman named Radha (राधा) was killed by a tiger while plucking coffee in the Priyadarshini Estate in Mananthavady village. Minister Saseendran stated that the decision to declare the tiger a man-eater was taken in view of the repeated attacks by the tiger and the increasing threat to human life.</p>



<p>The tiger that killed Radha also attacked Jayasurya (जयसूर्या), a beat forest officer and member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) on patrol on Sunday. Saseendran explained that this is the first time in the state that a tiger has been declared a man-eater. A high-level meeting was convened to address the issue seriously on the instructions of the Chief Minister. The process of capturing the tiger is underway, and meetings are being held with officials to address public concerns.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Increased Security Measures</strong></h2>



<p>To ensure safety, the undergrowth in the surrounding areas is being cleared, and surveillance is being increased due to the threat posed by the tiger. To strengthen wildlife management, 100 new cameras will be installed in Wayanad by March 31, and 400 AI cameras will be installed across the state.</p>



<p>Minister Saseendran visited Radha&#8217;s home, where he faced strong protests from locals. Local residents stopped his vehicle, expressed anger, and demanded that he retract his statement that Radha was killed inside the forest. Speaking to the media, the minister assured that all necessary steps would be taken and appealed to the public to support the government&#8217;s efforts. He also stated that another meeting on this issue will be held on January 29.</p>


<p>Following a fatal incident involving a 47-year-old woman, a curfew has been imposed in Wayanad, commencing at 6 AM this morning and lasting for the next 48 hours.</p>

<p>A video recently went viral on social media from a government school in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan. Following this, the school principal and a female teacher were dismissed. However, a photograph of the female teacher is now circulating online. This viral photo, however, is not actually of the teacher.</p>



<p>Since the photo went viral, the woman&#8217;s social media accounts have been flooded with abusive comments. It is now understood that the viral photo is not of the Rajasthan teacher but of Mini Golchha, a digital creator from Madhya Pradesh. The creator has also shared a video on her social media accounts.</p>



<p>In the video, she is heard saying, “My picture is being misused. People are doing this to increase their views, and I have taken action against them. I have filed a complaint with the police and cyber crime cell.”</p>

<p>The BJP has declared Jivardhan Chauhan as its candidate for the post of Mayor, reserved for the Scheduled Caste (Open) category, in the Raigarh Municipal Corporation. Jivardhan Chauhan is a veteran BJP worker. A resident of Railway Colony Sonkar Para in Raigarh, Chauhan joined the BJP in 1996. He was made a ward president in 1998. After being included in the BJYM city executive in 2004, he was appointed city minister in the organisation in 2005, city vice-president in 2006, city general secretary in 2008, and city president of the organisation in 2011.</p>
