सिलीसेढ़ क्षेत्र में गुरुवार को झमाझम बरसात के बाद गरवाजी पर्यटन स्थल स्थित झरने में जोरदार पानी की आवक देखने को मिली। रूपारेल नदी में भी एक फीट तक पानी का बहाव होता रहा। बरसात के बाद किसानों के चेहरे खिल गए। 
क्षेत्र के रतीराम गुर्जर आदि ने बताया कि सुबह सिलीसेढ़ क्षेत्र में करीब डेड घंटे झमाझम बरसात के बाद नदी में पानी आ गया। गरवाजी धाम पर पहाड़ों से गिरने वाले झरने में भी जोरदार पानी की आवक देखी गई, जिसके कारण आसपास के क्षेत्र में भूजल स्तर भी बढ़ेगा और किसानों को खेती में फायदा होगा। यह पानी सिलीसेढ़ झील में जाने से झील का पानी और बढ़ जाएगा। गत वर्ष भी सिलीसेढ़ झील की उपरा चल गई थी। इस बार भी उम्मीद हैं कि अच्छी बरसात होगी तो जल्दी ही सिलीसेढ़ झील की उपरा चल सकेगी। सिलीसेढ़ झील की भराव क्षमता 29 फीट है।

Chhattisgarh: Hotel Cleaner Enters Woman Doctor's Room at Night, She Fights Off Rape Attempt

A case of attempted rape of a female doctor staying at a hotel in the ITI Rampur area of Korba has come to light. The accused fled after the female doctor raised an alarm. The police have apprehended the accused after a cordon and search operation. The accused turned out to be a cleaning staff member of the hotel.



The female doctor, a resident of Sakti, had come to Korba. She was staying at Hotel Top Inn Town, located opposite the SP office. At around 2:30 am on Thursday night, a man entered her room through the window and attempted to rape the female doctor. He threatened her with a knife and tried to stifle her cries. Meanwhile, the woman bit the man&#8217;s thumb and screamed. Following this, the young man fled the room.



The female doctor recounted her ordeal to another female doctor staying in the adjacent room. Late at night, the incident was reported to the police via a call to Dial 112. A police team arrived at the scene, and an investigation was launched. CCTV footage was examined. Accused Apprehended After Cordon and Search



The accused, Raja Khadia (35 years), was apprehended by the police after a cordon and search operation. A case has been registered against him. The Civil Line police arrested the accused and produced him before a Korba court. From there, he was sent to jail on remand. The accused is a father of three children.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched an initiative to support candidates who narrowly miss final selection in the Civil Services Examination. Under the ‘Public Disclosure Scheme’ (PDS), UPSC has begun sharing information of such candidates – those who cleared the written exam but were not selected in the interview – with private companies. This move is expected to increase the chances of hardworking and qualified candidates finding suitable employment in the private sector.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Millions of Applicants Remain Unsuccessful</h2>



UPSC conducts ten regular examinations annually, selecting approximately 6,400 candidates for various government services. Despite their hard work, millions of candidates fail to make the final cut. Earlier this year, UPSC launched a portal called ‘Pratibha Setu’. The information includes candidates&#8217; names, educational qualifications, and contact numbers. Private companies and other organisations can use the portal to find suitable candidates for their job requirements.



Besides the Civil Services Examination, the portal also includes information on candidates from other UPSC examinations such as Engineering Services, Indian Forest Service, Central Armed Police Forces, Combined Geo-Scientist, and Combined Medical Services examinations. UPSC has ensured that the information is not misused. A UPSC official stated that the information is solely for verifying candidates&#8217; qualifications for employment and cannot be used for any other purpose.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Consent Required for Inclusion in the Scheme</h2>



Candidates must provide their consent to be included in this scheme. The portal is designed to allow companies to search for candidates based on their qualifications and subject specialisation. If a company requires candidates with a master&#8217;s degree in engineering or economics, they can easily find such information on the portal.

South Indian film industry mourns the loss of renowned Tamil actor Fish Venkat, who passed away at the age of 53. His death followed kidney and liver failure. He required ₹50 lakh for a kidney transplant and had been battling illness and hospitalisation for a considerable period, his condition deteriorating steadily. Following the news, social media has been flooded with tributes.

Fish Venkat&#8217;s condition had worsened to the point that he required regular dialysis and was on ventilator support. His real name was Venkat Raj. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: Following the Ahmedabad plane crash, US media and officials are scrambling to defend Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer implicated in the incident. They are attempting to pre-empt the finding of any criminal cause in the accident. In a recent report, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources close to US aviation experts, published a story claiming that the preliminary investigation report indicates the cockpit voice recorder captured the junior pilot questioning who had cut off the fuel switch. However, no evidence has been presented to identify who actually switched it off.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">US Media Statement Deemed Irresponsible</h2>



The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), India&#8217;s investigating agency, labelled the Wall Street Journal report as irresponsible, stating that it represents a premature attempt to reach a conclusion. The Indian agency is currently meticulously investigating all possible aspects of the accident, including technical malfunctions, design flaws, and the pilots&#8217; mental state, and has not yet reached any conclusions. Previously, the US investigating agency had hastily issued a statement denying any malfunction in the Boeing aircraft&#8217;s fuel switch without conducting a proper investigation.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pilots&#8217; Federation Condemns US Media</h2>



While no official statement has yet been released by Boeing, Air India, or India&#8217;s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Captain C.S. Randhawa, President of the Federation of Indian Pilots, has issued a statement strongly condemning the US media report. Randhawa stated that the US media report is entirely inaccurate and that the AAIB report makes no such mention. He accused them of preemptively assigning blame to the pilots without having read the report.



The pilots involved in the accident were Captain Sumit Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder. Captain Sabharwal had 15,638 hours of flight experience, and First Officer Kunder had 3,403 hours. Last week, India&#8217;s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau released a preliminary report indicating a state of confusion in the cockpit immediately before the accident. This report raised further questions about the position of the engine fuel cut-off switch.

The Wall Street Journal, in its latest report, has attempted to characterise the Ahmedabad aircraft accident as a criminal conspiracy. The Indian investigative agency, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, has termed the American media report irresponsible.

Aspiring participants in the Indian Army&#8217;s recruitment process will now face a more rigorous selection procedure. Passing the physical fitness test is no longer sufficient; Agniveers will also need to demonstrate mental fortitude and stress tolerance. For the first time, the army has made psychological testing mandatory to evaluate candidates&#8217; intellectual level and mental resilience.



These tests have been developed by the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), an organisation under the Ministry of Defence. The aim is to assess the stress-coping abilities of army recruits, thereby preventing future stress-related incidents.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">15-Minute Online Psychological Test</h2>



A 15-minute online software test has been designed for this purpose. While trials were conducted last year, the test, after technical improvements, will be implemented from August 2025. This process will begin with the Agniveer recruitment drives in Gwalior, Chambal, and Bundelkhand districts, falling under Madhya Pradesh.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Will the Test Work?</h2>



After candidates successfully complete the 1600-meter race in the first phase of the recruitment process, they will receive a link on their mobile phones to take the 15-minute psychological test. Candidates who fail this test will be deemed ineligible for further stages.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Previously Only for Officers</h2>



According to army officials, psychological testing was previously only part of the interview process for officers (NDA, CDS, JCO, etc.). However, this is the first time that Agniveers will also be required to pass this test. It is important to note that the test format for Agniveers is different from that used for officers.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why is this Test Necessary?</h2>



During a media interaction, Colonel Pankaj Kumar, Director of the Gwalior Army Recruitment Office, explained that physical fitness alone is no longer enough to become an Agniveer; mental strength is equally crucial. This is the first time Agniveers will undergo mandatory psychological testing. This will ensure that participants are mentally prepared to handle stressful situations within the army.

The use of pre-approved loan amounts, or credit lines, within the UPI Wallet will now be restricted solely to the purpose for which the bank approved the loan. This new rule will come into effect from 31 August 2025. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a circular in this regard.



According to the new circular, if a bank has provided a credit line facility on UPI to a user for a specific need, it must only be used to fulfil that need. NPCI has instructed all banks, payment companies, and UPI apps to implement these changes.



The facility to add credit lines on UPI was launched in April 2023, but the control and monitoring mechanisms were weak. It was often observed that customers did not use this loan for the purpose for which it was approved. This was impacting both the banking system and consumer protection. NPCI stated that new rules are being implemented to prevent the misuse of this facility. Many banks are offering credit lines of up to ₹200,000 on UPI.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What are the new rules?</h2>



<ol>
<li>Correct Use of Loan: The loan must be used only for the purpose for which the bank approved it. For example, if someone has taken a loan for education, they will not be able to spend it elsewhere using UPI.</li>



<li>Crucial Role of Banks: The bank will decide which transactions are approved and which are not. This decision will be made by the bank keeping in mind its policy and the purpose of the loan.</li>



<li>Monitoring of all Transactions: If a customer uses the credit line for an incorrect purpose, the bank will be able to block it. This mechanism is considered the biggest advantage of this new system.</li>



<li>Changes in Apps: All banks, UPI payment service providers, and app companies will have to add new codes to facilitate the use of interest-bearing credit lines.</li>
</ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is the Credit Line Facility?</h2>



Previously, only savings accounts, wallets, or RuPay credit cards could be linked via UPI, but later the credit line facility was also added. This is a type of loan that is pre-approved by banks for their customers. Similar to a credit card, a certain amount is set for the customer to spend. However, instead of receiving the entire loan amount, the customer can use the money little by little via UPI as needed. If the user does not have funds in their savings account or UPI wallet, they can use this loan amount for payments as needed. Interest is charged by the bank not on the entire loan amount, but only on the amount spent.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Link a Credit Line Account?</h2>



<ul>
<li>Banks provide the credit line facility only to customers with a good credit score.</li>



<li>First, download the UPI app from the Play Store. Complete the registration process and select the credit line as an option.</li>



<li>Select your issuer bank&#8217;s name from the drop-down menu. Once the mobile number is updated with the issuer bank, the masked (masked: credit line) will appear on the screen.</li>



<li>Select the credit line account you wish to link and confirm. Then generate the UPI PIN.</li>



<li>The loan repayment terms depend on the issuing bank.</li>
</ul>
