Farmer protest: Long traffic jams at all Noida borders as farmers march to Delhi today


<p>Farmers will march to Delhi from Noida today, with plans to surround Parliament. In response, Noida police have closed several routes leading to Delhi. A traffic advisory has been issued, urging people to avoid these routes. Please check the advisory before heading out. On December 2, 10 farmer organisations will enter Delhi, intending to gherao Parliament. A few days ago, leaders of the United Kisan Morcha held an unsuccessful meeting with the DM, Police Commissioner, Noida, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, and CEO of Yamuna Authority.</p>

<p>After that, the farmers announced to march to Delhi. Noida police have made all preparations to stop them. Some routes leading to Delhi have been diverted. Meanwhile, online classes have been announced in schools. Every person is being checked.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Farmers to march to Delhi at noon today</h2>



<p>Farmers will start their march from Mahamaya Flyover at 12 pm today. They will ride tractors and trolleys to reach Delhi. Noida police have put up barriers at all borders connecting Gautam Buddha Nagar to Delhi to stop the farmers. Checking is being done at all routes by Delhi Police and Gautam Buddha Nagar Police.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What are the demands of the farmers?</h2>



<p>1. Under the old Land Acquisition Act, affected farmers should be given 10% plots and a 64.7% increased compensation.</p>



<p>2. Government orders should be issued on the issues passed by the High Power Committee.</p>



<p>3. Proper rehabilitation of the affected area should be done.</p>



<p>4. After January 1, 2014, the acquired land should be given a market rate of four times the compensation and 20% plots.</p>



<p>5. All land-owning and landless farmers&#8217; children should be given employment and rehabilitation benefits.</p>

Cyclone Fengal: 19 Dead Across India and Sri Lanka, Seven Trapped in Tamil Nadu Rubble, Red Alert Issued


<p><strong>Cyclone Fengal: </strong>South India is witnessing the devastating impact of Cyclone Fengal. The storm has affected daily life. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in four districts of Kerala (Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur) today. Similarly, an alert has been issued for Andhra Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Andhra Pradesh&#8217;s Kakinada and other districts, as well as in the southern coastal region of Nellore.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">19 deaths in Sri Lanka</h2>



<p>Cyclone Fengal has affected the lives of people in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu due to heavy rainfall. So far, 19 people have died in Sri Lanka and India since Saturday. This includes 15 deaths in Sri Lanka and three in Chennai.</p>



<p>Local elders say that Puducherry witnessed such a natural disaster three decades ago. The main roads and streets are flooded due to heavy rainfall. Transport services have been affected, and voluntary organisations like Puducherry Heritage Round Table 167 have assisted the government&#8217;s efforts by providing food packets to people in relief camps.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Relief camps</h2>



<p>Due to this cyclone, more than 1,000 people have been sent to 32 relief camps. Meanwhile, 49 relief camps have been set up in Villupuram. In Tiruvannamalai, seven people are trapped in debris due to heavy rainfall, and the NDRF team is working to rescue them.</p>

<p><strong>Maharashtra:</strong> Amidst the ongoing uncertainty over the formation of a new government in Maharashtra, caretaker Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Ek Nath Shinde reiterated on Sunday that they will fully support whatever decision the BJP takes regarding the new Chief Minister. He also clarified that there is no disagreement among the allies of the Mahayuti, Shiv Sena-BJP-NC, regarding the formation of the government. After meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, Shinde returned to Thane on Sunday after visiting his village in Satara. In an interaction with journalists in Satara and Thane, Shinde said that he had gone to the village to rest. He said that the decision on the government will be taken collectively by the constituent parties of the Mahayuti and will be implemented with the consent of all parties.</p>



<p>Regarding the speculation about making his son Shrikant Shinde the Deputy CM and giving him the Home Department, Shinde said that the discussion is ongoing.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BJP Meeting Not Yet Fixed</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the swearing-in ceremony has been announced for December 5, but the date for the BJP legislature party meeting to elect a leader has not been fixed yet. According to BJP sources, the meeting may take place on Tuesday or Wednesday. Devendra Fadnavis is ahead in the race for the CM&#8217;s post. Senior BJP leader Raosaheb Danve said that the name of the new Chief Minister has been finalised and is awaiting confirmation from the party&#8217;s senior leadership. </p>

<p>In Lakhapura village, under the Kanchanpur police station in Dholpur, a husband took his own life four days after his wife&#8217;s death. His body was found hanging from a tree near his home. Family members have accused his in-laws of torturing him, claiming it led to his tragic decision. The police have sent the body for post-mortem.</p>



<p>Dholpur police have started an investigation into the matter based on a complaint filed by the elder brother of the deceased, Premchand. According to Premchand, the deceased Brijesh worked in a marble tiles business in Palwal, Delhi. Four days ago, on the night of November 26, his wife Bharti had committed suicide by hanging herself in her room. At that time, Brijesh was not at home. After Bharti&#8217;s death, her family members filed a report with the police, accusing the in-laws of demanding dowry and murder.</p>



<p>After Bharti&#8217;s death, the in-laws&#8217; side constantly harassed Brijesh over the phone, demanding Rs 50,000. When he refused to give the money, they threatened to send him to jail. Under stress, Brijesh hanged himself from a tree near his house. Family members said that Brijesh and Bharti got married four years ago and have two small children, a 2-year-old son Aditya and an 8-month-old daughter Nyra.</p>



<p>This incident has sent shockwaves in the village. ASI Hotam Singh of Kanchanpur police station said that a case is being registered based on the complaint filed by Premchand, in which the in-laws are accused of demanding money and mental torture. The police are also investigating the death of Brijesh&#8217;s wife, which took place four days ago.</p>

<p>Both parties had fought the Lok Sabha elections together, in which AAP had contested four seats and Congress had contested three. Although they lost all the seats, they reduced the margin of BJP&#8217;s victory. When Kejriwal was asked whether AAP will fight the Delhi Assembly elections in alliance, he said in a press conference, &#8220;There will be no alliance in Delhi.&#8221;</p>



<p>Meanwhile, within a few hours, Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav retaliated, saying that they were clear from the beginning that there would be no alliance with AAP in the Assembly elections, as AAP&#8217;s alliance had caused losses to their candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. </p>



<p>The Congress failed to secure any seats in the 2015 and 2020 Assembly elections, while the AAP secured dominant victories, winning 67 and 62 out of 70 seats respectively. However, in the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress outperformed the AAP. In Haryana, AAP had demanded 10 seats, while Congress was willing to give only seven, which led to the failure of the talks. The top leaders of Congress, including Rahul Gandhi, had wanted an alliance between the two parties. Congress is attacking AAP on the issues of Delhi governance and has organised a &#8216;Delhi Nyay Yatra&#8217; on the lines of Rahul Gandhi&#8217;s &#8216;Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra&#8217;, which is ending on December 4.</p>

<p><strong>The Election Commission of India:</strong> The Election Commission has filed a case against Syed Shuja, who claimed to hack EVMs, under the IT Act at the South Mumbai cyber police station. On November 14, a video of Shuja went viral, in which he claimed that he could hack EVMs used in the Maharashtra elections using American defence technology. He allegedly offered to hack 63 seats for Rs 53 crore to several politicians.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Election Commission calls video fake</h2>



<p>The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra has termed the viral video as fake and has registered a case against Shuja, calling his claims baseless, false, and unreliable. Shuja is a cyber security researcher and is originally from Hyderabad, but currently resides in Canada. He had made a similar claim in 2019 at a press conference in London, following which a case was registered against him. The Election Commission has reiterated that EVMs are standalone, tamper-proof devices and are completely secure.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rs 66.64 lakh for EVM verification</h2>



<p>After the Maharashtra Assembly elections, several candidates applied for the verification of EVM microcontrollers. Yuvraj Pawar, the nephew of Ajit Pawar, who lost to Baramati, paid Rs 8.96 lakh to the district administration to verify the microcontrollers of 19 EVMs. Other candidates, including Prashant Jagtap from Rakaanpaa (Sharad) and Congress candidate Ramesh Bagwe, have also applied. Candidates from 11 constituencies in Pune district have paid Rs 66.64 lakh to verify the microcontrollers of 137 EVM sets.</p>

<p>Pakistan: The terrorists who were nurtured by Pakistan to spread terror worldwide are now killing Pakistanis. A report by the Pakistan-based think tank, Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), has been cited by a Pakistani newspaper, Dawn. The report states that November has been the deadliest month this year, with at least 245 people, including 68 security personnel, killed in terrorist attacks. This includes 127 terrorists and 50 civilians.</p>



<p>This year, August was the most dangerous month in terms of terrorist attacks. During this month, 92 civilians, 108 terrorists, and 54 security personnel were killed, resulting in a total of 254 deaths. The report also highlights that police personnel and army soldiers were targeted in these attacks. Before this, 62 security personnel were killed in October.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan witnessed the most attacks</h2>



<p>In Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the most affected region, with 50 terrorist attacks, resulting in the deaths of 71 people and injuries to 85 others. The most recent attack was the worst tribal conflict in the Kurram district, which resulted in the deaths of over 120 people.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, in the troubled province of Balochistan, 20 terrorist attacks took place, resulting in the deaths of 60 people, including 26 security personnel, 25 civilians, and 9 terrorists. According to the report, Pakistani security forces also suffered heavy losses, with 68 personnel killed. This is the highest number of casualties since January 2023, when 114 soldiers were killed.</p>

Oli, who was elected Prime Minister in July this year, will be in China from 2 to 5 December at the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang of the People&#8217;s Republic of China, according to Nepal&#8217;s Foreign Ministry. Oli’s wife, Radhika Shakya, will also accompany him.</p>



<p>During his China visit, Oli will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and later hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. Additionally, Oli will also meet with Zhao Lezhi, the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People&#8217;s Congress of China.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New Problem for India</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that the visit of Nepal&#8217;s Prime Minister is taking place at a time when Nepal is debating whether to join China&#8217;s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Although Nepal has not yet clarified its stance, experts believe that Nepal may agree to join BRI, which could create bigger problems for India. This is because India is already opposing BRI in Pakistan as it passes through PoK, which is being referred to as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). If Nepal also joins BRI, it could provide easy access to China in India, posing a significant threat to India&#8217;s sovereignty.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government Allies Not Convinced</h2>



<p>However, it seems difficult for Nepal to take a decision on this issue as the Nepalese Congress and the CPN-UML government led by Prime Minister Oli have not been able to build trust on this matter. In such a situation, Nepal will have to first convince its leaders to agree to BRI.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is BRI?</h2>



<p>BRI, or the Belt and Road Initiative, is a global development strategy launched by China in 2013. It was launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping. While China is rapidly moving forward with BRI in Pakistan, the progress is slow in Nepal. There are financial and geopolitical reasons behind this. Nepal is trying to balance its relations with India and China, but it considers BRI as a significant opportunity for its economic development.</p>

International Arms Smuggling Exposed; Two Arrested with Guns


<p>The Punjab police have achieved a significant success. The police have busted an international arms smuggling racket and arrested two people. The Director-General of Police (DGP) informed that the Amritsar police&#8217;s Counter Intelligence unit has arrested two people in connection with the smuggling of weapons from Pakistan to Punjab.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eight Weapons Seized</h2>



<p>The police said that the two accused were allegedly waiting to receive a consignment of weapons in the Ghirinda area of Amritsar district. The Counter Intelligence unit arrested them and recovered eight weapons from their possession.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weapons Smuggled from Pakistan</h2>



<p>Punjab&#8217;s Director-General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, shared a post on social media account X. The DGP wrote that the Counter Intelligence Amritsar has given a big blow to the network of illegal arms smugglers by arresting two people from near Nurpur Padari in Ghirinda. The two accused were waiting to receive a consignment of weapons smuggled from Pakistan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Case Registered under Various Sections, Investigation Ongoing</h2>



<p>The police recovered four Glock pistols (Austrian-made), two 9mm pistols (Turkish-made), two .30 bore pistols, and 10 rounds of ammunition from the two accused. The police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Arms Act. The investigation is ongoing to identify any other possible links.</p>
