
<p>Rajasthan&#8217;s Finance Minister, Diya Kumari, today presented the government&#8217;s second full budget in the state assembly. Bhajan Lal government has themed this budget &#8216;Green Theme Budget&#8217;. The government will prioritise green buildings, solar energy, e-vehicles, and pollution control.</p>



<p>Deputy CM Diya Kumari made a significant announcement during the budget speech regarding an increase in pension amounts. This will greatly benefit senior citizens, the disabled, farmers, and widows.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pension Amount Increased</h2>



<p>While presenting the budget in the assembly, Finance Minister Diya Kumari announced an increase in pension amounts. She stated that from the coming year, the pension amount for low-income senior citizens, single women, widows, and small and marginal farmers will be increased from ₹1,150 to ₹1,250 per month. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Child Care Centres in 10 Districts</h2>



<p>Furthermore, Diya Kumari announced a reduction in the cost of availing housing schemes for women and the disabled from the underprivileged sections of the state to ₹3250 per housing unit. She also announced the establishment of childcare institutes in 10 districts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">90 Lakh Beneficiaries in the State</h2>



<p>At the launch of the social security pension scheme in Rajasthan, the pension amount was ₹500 per month. In 2019, the pension amount was increased to ₹750 per month. In 2023, a 15% annual increase was implemented, raising it to ₹1000 per month. This has now been further increased to ₹1250 per month by the Bhajanlal government. The scheme has over 90 lakh beneficiaries in the state.</p>

Rekha Gupta sworn in as Delhi Chief Minister; Becomes 4th Woman CM of national capital


<p>Rekha Gupta has been sworn in as Delhi&#8217;s ninth Chief Minister. Delhi&#8217;s Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rekha Gupta. </p>



<p>Rekha Gupta was elected as an MLA for the first time from the Shalimar Bagh constituency in Delhi. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several senior BJP leaders, party workers, and dignitaries. </p>



<p>Rekha Gupta stated that her government is committed to taking Delhi to new heights of development. The BJP has returned to power in Delhi after 27 years. Following Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi, Rekha Gupta is the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi.</p>

<p>Having risen from the ranks and served Delhi in different organisational capacities and as a councillor, Rekha Gupta is familiar with the issues and problems of the national capital. </p>



<p>With the BJP&#8217;s election manifesto containing a slew of promises, she is expected to hit the ground running and adopt a hands-on approach. </p>



<p>An elected MLA from Shalimar Bagh seat, Rekha Gupta has served as general secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and as a member of its national executive committee. In these roles, she initiated numerous campaigns for the welfare of marginalized communities and women. </p>



<p>Rekha Gupta started her political journey with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student body affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Having studied at Delhi University&#8217;s Daulat Ram College, she became the President of the Delhi University Students&#8217; Union (DUSU) in 1996-97 and actively raised student issues. </p>



<p>As a councillor from North Pitampura in 2007, she worked on developing basic facilities in the area, such as libraries and parks. She has also pursued an LLB and is the founder of the AAS, a NGO. She lost the mayoral election to AAP&#8217;s Shelly Oberoi in 2023. </p>



<p>A first-time MLA, Rekha Gupta, 50, was preferred over more senior leaders in Delhi BJP apparently because the the party wanted a woman leader to assume the post. </p>



<p>She is known to keep a low profile compared to some other leaders in Delhi BJP. Her name as next Delhi CM was announced after days of intense speculation about the possible choice. The results of Delhi assembly polls were declared on February 8. </p>



<p>With BJP stressing on women empowerment, Rekha Gupta&#8217;s elevation will help the party emphasise its credentials among women. She will be the only woman among the present BJP Chief Ministers. </p>



<p>After her election as leader of BJP legislature party, Rekha Gupta expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party leadership and people of Delhi for the responsibility bestowed on her and said every moment of her life will spent in fulfilling it. </p>



<p>Rekha Gupta said that it is a &#8220;miracle&#8221; and a &#8220;new chapter&#8221; marking the beginning of a transformative chapter for women in politics. Speaking to the media, Gupta vowed to hold corrupt individuals accountable, asserting that they will have to answer for every rupee misused. &#8220;It is a miracle, it is a new motivation and a new chapter. If I can be the CM, this means ways are open for all the women… Anyone who has been corrupt will have to give an account of each and every rupee,&#8221; she said. </p>



<p>Further, she expressed gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party&#8217;s high command for trusting her to govern the national capital. &#8220;It is a huge responsibility. I thank PM Modi and BJP high command for having faith in me… I will fulfil my responsibility with utmost honesty… My first priority is to complete all the commitments our party has made, and the second priority is that all our 48 MLAs will work as a team Modi. I never thought I would be a CM of Delhi,&#8221; Rekha Gupta said. </p>



<p>Rekha Gupta on Wednesday was elected as leader of BJP legislative party in a meeting of newly-elected MLAs. The BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, ousting the Aam Aadmi Party from power.</p>

<p><strong>UP Budget 2025 for Farmers:</strong> Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the UP Legislative Assembly today. This budget includes several major announcements for farmers. According to the announcement, approximately ₹79,500 crore will be given to nearly 3 crore farmers in the state under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This is the 9th budget of the Yogi government, with a total outlay of ₹8,08,736 crore.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did the farmers receive?</h2>



<p>Several major announcements were made for farmers in the budget for the financial year 2025-26.</p>



<p>– ₹79,500 crore will be given to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).<br>– Compensation of ₹496 crore will be provided to approximately 10 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister&#8217;s Crop Insurance Scheme).<br>– Under the PM KUSUM Yojana, a total of 22,089 solar pumps will be installed, which will help farmers with irrigation and save energy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Assistance in case of accidents</h2>



<p>According to the announcements made in the budget, if a farmer is involved in an accident, he will receive financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana (Chief Minister&#8217;s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme). This scheme has been in effect since 14 September 2019. Along with this, sugarcane farmers will be paid on time. The Yogi government has paid ₹2.73 lakh crore to approximately 46 lakh sugarcane farmers since 2017.</p>

Jaipur news: Metro to run on second major route, here's the new plan; elevated roads planned


<p>Jaipur: Jaipur Metro will be expanded to the city&#8217;s growing outer areas. Work on the Metro Phase-2 route from Sitapura Industrial Area to Vidhyadhar Nagar (Todi Mod) will commence. The project, with central government assistance, will cost approximately ₹12,000 crore. </p>



<p>Work will begin on this approximately 30-kilometre-long route. Once completed, this will be Jaipur&#8217;s second major metro route, benefiting over 2 million people. The state budget has brought several significant benefits to the capital city, Jaipur.</p>



<p>The budget announced a new metro route. According to Jaipur Metro&#8217;s plans, this route will start from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) in Pratap Nagar, and pass through Jagatpura, Tonk Road, Bitu Bypass, Mansarovar, and finally reach Vaishali Nagar. This will provide relief to a large population in the city&#8217;s outer areas and ease traffic congestion. The Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridors on Sikar Road and Ajmer Road will be removed. The government considers them ineffective and obstructive to traffic flow.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Elevated Roads to Ease Travel</h2>



<p>A 2.40 km elevated road will be constructed from Apex Circle to Jagatpura ROB at a cost of ₹130 crore. ₹65 crore will be spent on the elevated road from Jhotwara ROB to Khatipura ROB, ₹80 crore on the OTS intersection, ₹185 crore on the Riddhi-Sidhi intersection, and ₹3.5 crore will be spent on preparing the DPR for elevated roads from Narayan Circle to Purana Ramgarh Mod, Khaniya to Bagrana Agra Road, and Aranya Bhavan to Transport Nagar.</p>

<p><strong>Metro Expansion:</strong> Jaipur was becoming increasingly congested. Metro expansion was seen as a better option for public transport. The budget has given significant importance to metro expansion.</p>



<p><strong>Roadways Buses:</strong> The shortage of buses in the roadways fleet was a recurring concern; this budget allocates funds to purchase 500 new buses.</p>

<p><strong>Pink Toilets:</strong> The lack of toilets in public places like offices, railway stations, bus stands, and markets caused significant difficulties for women. The budget announced the construction of Pink Toilets.</p>



<p><strong>Gig Workers:</strong> Patrika was the first to highlight the problems faced by gig workers, launching the &#8216;Yeh Dard Hai Beshumar&#8217; campaign. The government has now not only initiated measures to protect gig workers in the budget but has also made provisions for their training.</p>

<p><strong>Bhilwara Road Accident:</strong> A tragic road accident on the Bhilwara-Ajmer highway on Thursday claimed the life of a Mahant (religious leader). The car driver was injured in the accident. Mahant Brahmpuri of Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhada died in the accident. The accident occurred near Raysinghpura on the Ajmer National Highway. Mandl police arrived at the scene after receiving information.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Death at the Scene</h2>



<p>It is being reported that the Mahant was travelling from Jaisalmer to Mandsaur by car. During this time, a trailer hit the Mahant&#8217;s car. Mahant Brahmpuri died at the scene. The highway was blocked for some time following the accident. The car driver sustained injuries in the accident. An ambulance that arrived at the scene took the driver, Ashok Vaishnav, to Mandl hospital for treatment.</p>



<p>The Mahant&#8217;s body has been kept in the mortuary. News of the incident spread grief among the Mahant&#8217;s disciples in Jaisalmer. Several saints and Mahants from Jaisalmer have left for Bhilwara after receiving the news. The accident was so severe that the car was badly damaged. The police called a crane to the scene to remove the damaged vehicle and restore traffic flow.</p>

<p>MP NEWS: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Collector and SP of Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, asking them to appear in Delhi. The notice directs both officers to appear at the NHRC office in Delhi at 2 PM on February 28th to submit their response and report. The entire matter is related to the alleged torture of a 5-year-old child at a kids&#8217; school in Rewa city.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Case</h2>



<p>BJP leader Gaurav Tiwari filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission regarding the physical and mental harassment of a 5-year-old nursery student at Jyoti Kids Garden School in the Bodabag locality of the city. He stated that the child had soiled himself in class, after which the teacher and the attendant scolded him and dragged him to the bathroom. There, they forced him to clean his pants and left him standing for hours in the cold wearing wet clothes and shoes. The entire incident was recorded in the school&#8217;s CCTV footage, but the school management deleted it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Appear in Delhi office on February 28th</h2>



<p>The National Human Rights Commission had previously sought a response from the Collector and SP through a notice. After failing to receive a response by February 17th, despite being given two extensions, the Commission took cognizance and issued summons against the Collector and SP, ordering them to appear before the Commission in New Delhi on February 28th. They are also required to explain the action taken against the school management and why the response was not submitted to the Commission within the stipulated time.</p>

<p>American universities continue to dominate the rankings, with six institutions in the top 10. Tsinghua University of China remains in eighth place, while the University of Tokyo, Japan, is in tenth place.</p>

<p>Madhya Pradesh is set to receive another Vande Bharat Express train. The railway authorities have finalised the route and schedule for the new train, which will connect the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. </p>



<p>The new Vande Bharat Express will originate from Jabalpur in MP and terminate at Chandrapur Fort station in Maharashtra. Initially, the proposal was to run it from Jabalpur to Raipur, but the railway administration decided to change the route. </p>



<p>The Indian railways has announced the new route and prepared a new schedule. The new Vande Bharat train will commence operations once it receives approval from the Railway Board. This will give Jabalpur two Vande Bharat Express trains.</p>



<p>Following strong passenger demand, the hopes for a new train from Jabalpur have finally been realised. This Vande Bharat Express will run from Jabalpur to Chandrapur Fort station, located in Chandrapur district. </p>



<p>This new train will thus connect MP with Maharashtra. This decision by the railways will greatly benefit rail passengers in the Mahakaushal region, including the cultural capital (Sanskaradhani).</p>



<p>Chandrapur Fort station is approximately 476 km from Jabalpur. The new Vande Bharat Express will cover this distance in 8.35 hours. </p>



<p>The railway had previously announced a Vande Bharat Express between Jabalpur and Gondia, with a route via Raipur. This route has now been changed. The Vande Bharat Express will now run from Jabalpur via Gondia to Chandrapur Fort station.</p>



<p>The West Central Railway Division has created a new schedule for the Jabalpur-Chandrapur Fort Vande Bharat along with the new route. According to this, the new train will depart from Jabalpur at 6:30 AM and reach Chandrapur Fort station via Nainpur, Balaghat, and Gondia. The return journey will commence at 3:45 PM from Chandrapur Fort station and arrive late at night in Jabalpur.</p>



<p>According to West Central Railway officials, the proposed timetable for the new Vande Bharat Express has been sent to the Railway Board. The train will be launched after receiving the green signal from the board.</p>



<p><strong>New Route and Schedule</strong><br>The Jabalpur-Chandrapur Fort Vande Bharat will depart from Jabalpur at 6:30 AM. This train will depart Madan Mahal at 6:40 AM, Nainpur at 7:10 AM, Balaghat at 8:28 AM, Gondia at 9:30 AM, Nagbhir at 11:53 AM, and arrive at Chandrapur Fort station at 1:45 PM.</p>



<p>The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Chandrapur Fort station at 3:45 PM, Nagbhir station at 6:18 PM, Gondia station at 5:50 PM, Balaghat at 6:35 PM, Nainpur at 8:15 PM, and arrive at Jabalpur station at 12:20 AM.</p>

<p>Several highways in Madhya Pradesh are undergoing widening, resulting in the demolition of numerous buildings. This includes the Indore-Ichhapur highway, currently being widened in Barwah, involving the removal of encroachments by the Nagar Palika (Municipal Corporation).</p>



<p>The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has handed over a section of the Indore-Ichhapur highway to the Barwah Nagar Palika. The road from Katakut Fate to Navghat Kheri is now under the Nagar Palika&#8217;s control, and they are widening it. Encroachments are being removed through persuasion or stricter measures.</p>



<p>According to Nagar Palika officials, the road will be widened to 60 feet. The corporation has removed encroachments belonging to both ordinary citizens and influential individuals, including those at the main intersection and Jai Stambh Chowk.</p>



<p>As part of this initiative, the Nagar Palika also took action against a private commercial building and lodge near the Bank of India, just beyond Jai Stambh Chowk. This led to a dispute between the lodge owner and the Chief Municipal Officer (CMO).</p>



<p>The Nagar Palika revenue and police departments, along with a large team, arrived to remove the encroachment. Traffic was diverted by placing barricades in the middle of the road.</p>



<p>A lengthy argument ensued between the lodge owner, Prasun Dasani, and the CMO, Kuldeep Kinshuk. The CMO stated that several notices had been issued, but they were not taken seriously. He asserted that the action was being taken as per regulations and that no further time would be given before proceeding with the demolition.</p>



<p><strong>Building Owner Granted Reprieve</strong><br>The commercial building owner spoke to the Nagar Palika president, Rakesh Gupta, and submitted a written application promising to remove the lower pillars once the divider work begins, allowing road construction up to the existing wall.</p>



<p>Following this written assurance, the Nagar Palika withdrew its personnel. Road construction will now proceed up to the wall. A court case is pending regarding the wall built by the Nagar Palika in front of the shops in the building&#8217;s basement. No stay order has been issued by the court yet.</p>



<p>Nagar Palika president Rakesh Gupta stated that their aim is not to deliberately harm anyone. He considers all residents, including those whose encroachments are being removed, as his own. However, he also has a responsibility towards the city&#8217;s development. His efforts have focused on persuading people to cooperate in removing encroachments. If appeals are ignored, the city&#8217;s development takes precedence.</p>

<p><strong>Jaipur</strong>: In the budget presented by the Rajasthan government, Finance Minister Diya Kumari announced that consumers installing solar panels would receive up to 150 units of free electricity. Following this announcement, questions arose regarding the future of the existing 100-unit free electricity scheme and whether solar panel installation would become mandatory for its continuation.</p>



<p>Clarifying the ambiguity, Finance Minister Diya Kumari stated that the current 100-unit free electricity scheme will remain in effect, and consumers will continue to receive its benefits as before. She explained that the government&#8217;s primary objective is to encourage people to adopt solar energy to enhance energy self-sufficiency and balance electricity consumption.</p>



<p>She confirmed that no changes have been made to the 100-unit free electricity scheme. <strong><em>&#8220;The 100 units of free electricity currently being provided will continue uninterrupted. However, we aim to gradually encourage people to shift towards solar energy.&#8221;</em></strong> The government aims to promote wider adoption of solar energy to reduce dependence on conventional electricity and benefit the environment.</p>

<p><strong>Jobs In India:</strong> The problem of unemployment in India is growing. Educated young people are unable to find work due to a lack of skills. The gap between university degrees and skills is constantly widening. Industries are rapidly moving towards Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation. This is causing difficulties for new graduates in finding suitable employment. Companies are now looking for graduates who can adapt quickly to the new era.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Only 42.6 per cent of youth are employable</h2>



<p>A new report by Mercer-Mettl, India’s Graduate Skill Index 2025, reveals that only 42.6 per cent of Indian graduates are employable, meaning 57.4 per cent are unable to find work. This figure is for 2024. The situation has worsened in a year, as 44.3 per cent of graduates were considered employable in 2023. However, it is satisfying that the gender gap in this matter (men 43.4 per cent and women 41.7 per cent) is not significant. The report found that the biggest challenge facing young people is the growing gap between the needs of employers and the skills possessed by graduates.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Growing demand for AI, data science and soft skills</h2>



<p>There is a high demand for AI and data science in the job market. This is followed by non-technical skills, or soft skills, where key competencies such as communication (55.1 per cent), critical thinking (54.6 per cent), and leadership (54.2 per cent) are now essential for workplace success. The demand for creativity is not high. The employability score in this area is only 44.3 per cent. Creative talents are facing more difficulty in finding jobs.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tier-1 colleges are ahead, but…</h2>



<p>The report stated that graduates from first-class colleges have the highest employment prospects at 48.4 per cent. This is followed by Tier-2 (46.1 per cent) institutions in second place and Tier-3 (43.4 per cent) institutions in third place.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Delhi-Himachal-Punjab ahead</h2>



<p>Among the states, Delhi (53.4 per cent), Himachal Pradesh (51.1 per cent), and Punjab (51.1 per cent) produce the most employable graduates. Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, and Telangana are also in the top 10.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">AI and data science jobs increased</h2>



<p>The report stated that 46 per cent of Indian graduates are now employable in AI and ML roles, which is better than in 2023. The demand for AI, data analytics, and digital skills is increasing. Gender equality has been observed in these roles.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Musk&#8217;s Tesla starts hiring in India</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, Tesla Inc., owned by prominent American industrialist Elon Musk, has advertised for jobs in India. Musk met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the US. Since then, speculation has been rife about Tesla cars entering the Indian market. Tesla&#8217;s advertisement has fuelled these speculations.</p>



<p>According to the advertisement, Tesla is looking for candidates for 13 positions. At least five of these positions, including service technicians and advisors, are required in Mumbai and Delhi. Tesla and the Indian government have been in talks for several years, but the carmaker has kept its distance from the South Asian country due to concerns over high import duties. India has now reduced the basic customs duty on high-end cars priced above $40,000 from 110 per cent to 70 per cent.</p>

The SBI PO preliminary exam will now be held on 8th, 16th, and 24th March 2025. The exam-related notification can be checked on the official SBI website.</p>

<p>The SBI PO preliminary exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The question paper will be divided into three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.</p>



<p>Candidates will be given 60 minutes to answer 100 questions carrying 100 marks. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
