
<p>Bageshwar Dham Baba stated that to counter and expel anti-religious forces involved in religious conversions, ‘Hanuman Chalisa Bageshwar Mandals’ will be established in neighbourhoods across the country.</p>



<p>During a short visit to Jodhpur, Rajasthan Shastri mentioned the organisation of an ‘Adivasi Janjagaran Mahasammelan’ on 19 January, which saw the participation of 22 buses from Rajasthan. Approximately 1200 families attended the convention to participate in the awakening movement. He highlighted that currently, tribal communities are the easiest target, as their connection to nature prioritises water, forest, and life above all else.</p>

<p>Regarding the Maha Kumbh Mela, Shastri described it as a remarkable confluence of Indian Sanātana culture. He expressed pride in the event&#8217;s occurrence after 144 years, emphasising its symbolism of social unity, harmony, and togetherness. He noted the magnificence of Sanātana Dharma, citing the example of Steve Jobs&#8217; wife participating in the ritual bath as Kamala. He also mentioned the participation of French and American individuals in the holy dip.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Live life in reality, not reels</h2>



<p>Commenting on the ‘reel’ phenomenon at the Maha Kumbh, Shastri expressed concern that the event is deviating from its original purpose – the promotion of Sanātana and Indian culture. While many sadhus and sanyasis attend, the focus on reels is primarily on young women. He suggested that the Maha Kumbh should be a subject of research, considering the management of 40 crore attendees, the origins and destinations of the sadhus and saints, and the significance of the Sangam.</p>

<p><strong>IND vs ENG 1st T20 Highlights:</strong> The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and England was played on Wednesday night at Kolkata&#8217;s Eden Gardens. India&#8217;s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and elected to bowl first. England, renowned for its bazball cricket, batted first and was bowled out for a mere 132 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Jos Buttler scored 68 runs, but no other batsman reached the 20-run mark. In response, India achieved the 133-run target for the loss of three wickets with 43 balls remaining, securing a 7-wicket victory and taking a 1-0 lead in the series.</p>

<p>After the match, England captain Jos Buttler stated, &#8220;We wanted to play aggressively, but we&#8217;re playing against a very aggressive team, which makes it really exciting. You have to assess the conditions everywhere and play well. I&#8217;m really enjoying it.&#8221; He added, &#8220;There was a bit of movement in the wicket initially, which we weren&#8217;t expecting. Because of this, we lost a few wickets. Jalgaon Train Crash: 11 Dead, 11 Injured, Rs 5 Lakh Compensation Announced


<p>A horrific rail accident occurred on Wednesday evening in Pachora, Jalgaon district, Maharashtra. At least 11 passengers lost their lives due to a rumour of a fire on the train. Officials stated that the deceased passengers were from the Pushpak Express. Eleven passengers of the Pushpak Express died and 11 were injured, four critically, after being hit by the Karnataka Express. Following this tragic incident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences and announced a compensation of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How did the accident happen?</h2>



<p>The Pushpak Express was heading towards Mumbai. The incident occurred 40 km from Jalgaon. It is reported that a passenger pulled the chain after fearing a fire in a general compartment. This caused the train to stop, and several passengers jumped off. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Express on the adjacent track arrived, resulting in several passengers being hit.</p>



<p>Upon receiving information, railway officials and other staff arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation. Minister in the Maharashtra government, Gulabrao Patil, stated that 11 people died and 4 were critically injured, while 7 others sustained minor injuries. There are fears that the death toll may rise. Passengers were standing outside their coaches at the time of the accident, suspecting a fire on the train.</p>

<p>Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam said, “11 people have died in the unfortunate accident involving passengers of the Pushpak Express. The District Magistrate, District Superintendent, and all senior officials have reached the spot. Eight 108 ambulances of the Maharashtra government have been sent there. The railway rescue van has also reached there. Full assistance is being provided by the administration… People can contact the helpline number of the District Magistrate&#8217;s office there…”</p>

<p>Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to inquire about the Jalgaon train accident. He said, “The Jalgaon rail accident is extremely sad. I spoke to CM Fadnavis in this regard and got information about the accident. The local administration is providing all possible help to the injured. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.”</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan tweeted, “Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate death of some passengers after being hit by another train near Jalgaon. My condolences to those who lost their lives. Wishing speedy recovery to the injured.”</p>

Celebrated comedian Kapil Sharma, along with Rajpal Yadav, has received a threatening email, allegedly originating from Pakistan. Sugandha Mishra and Remo D&#8217;Souza have also reportedly received similar threats. Police have registered a complaint. The threats, delivered via email, target dancers and comedians, causing widespread alarm in Mumbai. This incident follows the attack on Saif Ali Khan just a week prior, raising concerns about a potential connection to Pakistan.</p>



<p>Following the life threats received by the superstars, the police have filed an FIR and launched an investigation. The sender of the emails threatened consequences if a response wasn&#8217;t received within eight hours. Preliminary investigations suggest the emails originated from Pakistan. Mumbai Police have filed a case under Section 351(3). No statement has yet been released by the actors or their families.</p>

<p>The emails, allegedly sent by an individual named Vishnu, stated: ‘This is not a publicity stunt. We have all your activity details. We expect an immediate response within the next 8 hours. Failure to reply will be considered a lack of seriousness on your part &#8211; Vishnu.’ Police are currently investigating, using the IP address and other technical information to trace the sender.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven Women Rescued</h2>



<p>Police rescued seven women who had been lured into the operation with promises of high income and sent them home. According to police, the hotel manager, Sagar Singh Negi (resident of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand), and Nisha (resident of Trilokpuri, Delhi), enticed women with the promise of well-paying jobs before forcing them into sex work.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Accused Escapes</h2>



<p>Police found men and women in objectionable positions in the hotel rooms during the raid. Police seized objectionable material, a scanner for online transaction apps, and the hotel register. In addition to the 60-year-old man and the hotel operator, a total of seven people were arrested. Police are now searching for Vikram Singh alias Vicky, a resident of New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, who managed to escape during the raid.</p>

Payment can be made through various methods, including cash deposit at any branch of the State Bank of India, net banking, or using Visa/Master/RuPay credit/debit cards or UPI payments.</p>

John Bolton: US Should Embrace More H-1B Immigrants


<p>Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has thrown his weight behind significant reforms to the US immigration system, particularly focusing on the H-1B visa program. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Addressing the Immigration Logjam</h2>



<p>While acknowledging the urgency of tackling illegal immigration – a stance he notes is widely popular – Bolton highlighted the critical need to address the crippling gridlock within the legal immigration system. He stated, &#8220;The legal immigration system is hopelessly gridlocked. It&#8217;s very politically difficult to change.&#8221;</p>



<p>Bolton&#8217;s solution? A more welcoming approach to legal immigration. He believes it&#8217;s a key ingredient for US prosperity, adding, &#8220;My view is that we should welcome additional immigrants. It&#8217;s a source of strength for the United States.&#8221; He sees the visa program as a valuable tool, allowing skilled workers to contribute while retaining the option to return home or pursue US citizenship.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">H-1B Visas and the Need for Political Will</h2>



<p>Bolton specifically praised the H-1B visa program for its positive impact on the US, urging a renewed political commitment to facilitate greater legal immigration. He stressed the importance of orderly processes, a stark contrast to the current situation. &#8220;But I think it&#8217;s a very positive program for the United States and at some point, we need to find the political will to allow more legal immigration,&#8221; he asserted. &#8220;It&#8217;s a question of&#8230;doing it in an orderly fashion, and we are certainly not doing that right now.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Strengthening India-US Relations: Beyond Trade</h2>



<p>Shifting focus to US-India relations, Bolton noted the positive personal rapport between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump. He commended the Biden administration&#8217;s progress on Asian security, particularly through the QUAD partnership (India, Japan, Australia, and the US), expressing hope that this momentum would continue under any future administration.</p>



<p>While acknowledging the Biden administration&#8217;s focus on trade in US-India discussions, Bolton stressed the need to elevate the conversation beyond purely economic matters. He highlighted the paramount strategic importance of the India-US partnership in the 21st century, advocating for discussions encompassing a broader range of geopolitical issues.</p>



<p>&#8220;In the meetings I attended&#8230;almost the entire conversation turned on trade issues,&#8221; he recalled. &#8220;Trade&#8217;s important&#8230;But there are important strategic issues where I think the US and India have a common relationship. I&#8217;d like to see the PM and [future Presidents] get beyond trade issues&#8230;But they need to talk about these broader strategic questions as well.&#8221;</p>



<p>Bolton concluded by emphasising the profound significance of the India-US relationship, urging leaders to prioritise a comprehensive strategic dialogue alongside crucial trade discussions.</p>

Denied Exam Over Unpaid Fees, Student Ends Life


<p>An eighth-grade student in Surat, Gujarat, committed suicide by hanging herself at home. The child&#8217;s family alleges that the school administration prevented her from taking the examination due to outstanding fees. They claim she was subjected to two days of physical and mental harassment, including being made to stand near the bathroom. Distressed by this, she took her own life.</p>



<p>Bhavna (14), daughter of Rajubhai Khatik residing in the Godadara area of Surat, was a student at Adarsh Public School. Rajubhai stated that his daughter was barred from taking the examination before Makar Sankranti due to outstanding fees. She came home crying. He claims he called the school and requested to pay the fees the following month, but she continued to be harassed. It is reported that on Monday, all family members were at a relative&#8217;s house when Bhavna hanged herself from a ceiling fan. Upon their return, the family took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Missing: Principal</h2>



<p>Regarding this incident, the school principal stated that they never demand fees directly from students, only informing parents about outstanding payments. They claim the allegations are false and that the student was missing. The state&#8217;s Education Minister, Prof. Prafull Panseriya, has assured an investigation into the parents&#8217; allegations.</p>

<p><strong>Delhi Crime News:</strong> A shocking robbery has taken place in Delhi, leaving people stunned. In Bharat Nagar, Delhi, robbers used a slingshot to steal jewellery worth one crore rupees at a busy traffic intersection while the victims were stopped at a red light. Bharat Nagar police station has registered a case and is investigating using CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits.</p>



<p>According to Delhi Police, on Tuesday night, at a busy intersection in Bharat Nagar, North-West Delhi, members of a ‘slingshot gang’ used a slingshot to smash the window of a sedan and rob jewellery worth one crore rupees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How was the Crime Committed?</h2>



<p>Vijay Verma, owner of ‘Vijay Gems’, a jewellery shop in Karol Bagh, left his shop around 8:15 pm and was heading home to Shalimar Bagh with his son and driver. Two individuals on a scooter began following them. Around 9 pm, Verma called the police, reporting that near Lakshmibai College, robbers had snatched his bag containing jewellery worth ₹1 crore. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West), Bishram Singh, stated, “CCTV footage shows that at a red light near the college, two individuals on a scooter stopped near their car. The pillion rider used a slingshot to break the window and snatched the bag before fleeing.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did the Police Say?</h2>



<p>Police stated that the perpetrators appear to be part of a “slingshot gang” known for using slingshots to commit robberies across Delhi. CCTV footage is being analysed, and their routes are being traced to apprehend them.</p>
