<p><strong>R Ashwin on Suryakumar Yadav Batting:</strong> Although the Indian cricket team achieved a resounding 4-1 victory against England in the T20 International series, captain Suryakumar Yadav&#8217;s poor form has raised concerns. The Indian captain managed only 28 runs in 5 matches, twice being dismissed for a duck. His highest score in the series was a mere 14 runs. Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has asserted that Suryakumar Yadav needs to adapt his batting style to perform better in this shortest format of the game.</p>



<p>As a former world number-1 in T20s, Surya has high expectations from fans. While his captaincy in the domestic T20 series against England was excellent, his batting was far from his usual standard. The same problem exists with opening batsman Sanju Samson. R Ashwin was surprised to see both these veteran batsmen dismissed in similar circumstances against English fast bowlers. He claimed that both were dismissed similarly, making the same mistake – a serious concern for the team.</p>

However, he could take a break from batting for a while. Sanju Samson and SKY are getting out on the same ball, same field placement, same shot, same mistake, and in the same manner. I can understand this happening in 1-2 matches, but now it&#8217;s not unusual. Players should play freely, but our batsmen need to find a better answer to this question.</p>

<p>The former spinner praised Sky&#8217;s excellent captaincy, while also revealing that the batsman needs to change his batting style. Ashwin further added that Sky needs to make significant changes and he believes he will. Ashwin said that Suryakumar Yadav is a very experienced player. One might say he was at the forefront of change, but the time has come for him to change his approach to batting.</p>

<p>With new recruitment stalling for two years, Home Guard training centres across districts struggle to maintain internal security with limited personnel working alongside the police. Despite these challenging circumstances, the state government seems oblivious to the plight of the Home Guard personnel.</p>



<p>The role of the Home Guard has expanded significantly in maintaining law and order in the state. Despite this, the personnel&#8217;s status remains inferior to that of the police. Home Guards do not receive mess or daily allowance (DA), and the benefits of the welfare fund are negligible. There is no pension provision. Travel allowance hasn&#8217;t been disbursed for five years. Uniforms are provided only once every two years. They lack the benefits of Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and ESI (Employees&#8217; State Insurance) and PF (Provident Fund).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Deployment in Police Stations</h2>



<p>Home Guard personnel advocate for their deployment in every government department and all police stations across the district. Appointments should be guaranteed with regular employment. Home Guard training centres should be established in newly formed districts. The number of female personnel should be increased in the districts. The Home Guard should have its own building in each district. New recruitment has been stalled for two years. There has also been no increase in the honorarium and allowances for Home Guard personnel.</p>

The state government should grant Home Guards the same status as the state police service. New Home Guard offices should be established in the newly formed districts.</p>



<p>New recruitment for Home Guards has been stalled for two years. Salaries and allowances should be comparable to other states. The government should also provide PF and medical facilities. <p>An assailant attacked Saif in his Bandra residence, entering his youngest son Jeh&#8217;s room. The actor, bleeding profusely, took himself to the hospital, with his son Taimur present at the time.</p>



<p>Media reports stated that doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife from his wound. The actor sustained multiple stab wounds while trying to fight off the attacker. He received six wounds, two considered serious due to their proximity to his spine.</p>

Sons Fight Over Father&#39;s Funeral, Insist on Dividing Corpse


<p>A serious incident has come to light from Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh. A dispute arose between two brothers over the last rites of their father. The elder brother even demanded that the body be divided into two parts for the funeral. Relatives and villagers present were shocked by this.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Body Lay on the Ground for Hours</h2>



<p>The elder son was so adamant that the body remained on the ground outside the house for about 5 hours. The police had to intervene and resolve the matter. After police intervention, the last rites were performed. The entire incident took place in Gram Panchayat Tal Lidhora, Jatara police station area of Tikamgarh district. 85-year-old Dhyani Singh Ghosh had passed away.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Younger Brother Cared for Father</h2>



<p>Dhyani Singh&#8217;s younger son, Damodar Singh, had cared for his father. After his father&#8217;s death, he was preparing for the last rites. Meanwhile, the elder son, Kishan Singh, arrived with his family and insisted on performing the last rites. The younger brother protested, stating that he had cared for their father during his illness.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Demand to Divide the Body</h2>



<p>Seeing the matter not calming down, the elder brother, Kishan, suggested dividing the father&#8217;s body into two parts for the funeral. He said, &#8220;Let me perform the last rites for one part, and you for the other.&#8221; The police then intervened and mediated, after which the last rites were finally performed.</p>

<p><strong>CG News:</strong> Two families are embroiled in a distressing situation due to alleged negligence at a district hospital. The case involves the apparent switching of two newborns, both born on the same day. A Hindu couple&#8217;s child was given to a Muslim family, and vice versa. This mix-up was discovered a week later, causing an uproar at the hospital.</p>



<p>One family is now demanding their child back, while the other refuses to return the baby. According to hospital information, on 23 January, Shabana Qureshi, wife of Altaf Qureshi, a resident of Durg, and Sadhna Singh , wife of Shailendra Singh, a resident of Bhilai, both delivered baby boys. One baby was born at 1:25 PM, and the other 9 minutes later at 1:34 PM.</p>



<p>To identify the babies, tags bearing their mothers&#8217; names were placed on their hands. As part of the procedure, photographs of both newborns were taken with their mothers after birth. The nurses then handed the babies over to their mothers. However, a mistake occurred during this process.</p>



<p>Sadhna&#8217;s baby was given to Shabana, and Shabana&#8217;s baby was given to Sadhna. Both mothers were then discharged. Thus, the Hindu baby went home with the Muslim family, and the Muslim baby went home with the Hindu family.</p>



<p>The incident came to light a week later when Shabana returned to the hospital to have her stitches removed. Azhar Qureshi, Shabana&#8217;s brother-in-law, explained that Shabana was admitted on 21 January. On 1 February, when she went for stitch removal, she noticed a tag on the baby&#8217;s hand that read &#8220;Sadhna&#8221;. It then became clear that the baby they had was Sadhna&#8217;s. After showing the baby to the hospital, the doctor on duty checked the photographs from that day.</p>



<p>It was then confirmed that the babies had been exchanged. The baby with Shabana was indeed Sadhna&#8217;s; a birthmark on the baby confirmed this. Azhar Qureshi stated, &#8220;We want the baby to be returned to its rightful parents. If they wish to confirm, we are willing to undergo a DNA test. We just want our baby back, and they should get their baby back.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Team to be formed</h2>



<p>Dr. Manoj Dani, Durge CHMO, stated that he is aware of the baby exchange. After receiving full details from the hospital, a team will be formed to ensure that the babies are returned to their biological parents.</p>

<p>In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, ignoring traffic rules could have serious consequences. The transport department is strengthening the Integrated Traffic Management System in Bhopal to enforce traffic regulations more effectively. This system will now include the revocation of driving licences (DLs) for repeated traffic violations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Driving Licenses to be Revoked</h2>



<p>This will be monitored by advanced cameras installed at 32 major intersections in the capital. While these cameras previously issued notices and fines for violations, now, after four notices, a driver&#8217;s DL will be revoked on the fifth offence. To facilitate this, the software of the Bhopal Smart City Company and Techno-cess Company will soon be integrated with the transport department&#8217;s server.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Starting with Bhopal-Registered Vehicles</h2>



<p>Initially, this integrated system will be implemented for vehicles registered in Bhopal. Information about vehicles violating rules will be available on the transport department&#8217;s website. After identifying the driver, their license will be revoked. A similar system is currently being implemented in Indore and may be rolled out to other major cities in the future.</p>

<p>The Income Tax Department in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has seized jewellery worth ₹3.50 crore from rice millers and brokers for failing to account for it. The seized jewellery includes platinum and gold-silver jewellery studded with diamonds. During the search, tax irregularities amounting to approximately ₹1000 crore were discovered. Documents related to these transactions, properties, benami assets, and investments, along with computers, laptops, and electronic devices, have been seized, and backups have been taken.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Documents and Electronic Devices Seized </h2>



<p>The IT team returned on Sunday morning, the fifth day after the search began. During the search, bogus billing, raw material transactions, and income and expenditure details were discovered. Rice millers and brokers were questioned and statements were recorded. Summons have been issued to all, demanding an accounting. Upon appearance and presentation of documentary evidence, an investigation will be conducted to assess tax evasion.</p>



<p>It is noteworthy that the Income Tax Department team conducted raids on 25 locations of rice millers and brokers on January 29. These locations included their homes, offices, warehouses, and the siding area of a port in Kakinada. During the search, ₹10 crore in unaccounted cash and ₹2.50 crore worth of jewellery were seized due to lack of accounting. All 18 lockers were searched, and documents related to tax evasion and raw material dealings were examined.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Six Years of Records Under Scrutiny </h2>



<p>The records, stock, and ITR returns of the rice millers and brokers for the past six years have been brought under scrutiny. This tax evasion is linked to non-taxable cash transaction papers found at the premises of the rice millers and brokers. The turnover of the group exporting non-basmati rice to Vietnam and African countries is approximately ₹2000 crore. Of this, ₹1600 crore worth of business is related to raw material transactions. This entire operation involved purchasing paddy in Chhattisgarh, milling it into rice, and exporting it, thereby concealing income through bogus billing and showing inflated expenses.</p>

Details of total income and expenditure and TDS have been sought. They have been asked to appear at the TDS office with the relevant documents. It should be noted that the IT&#8217;s TDS wing conducted a survey on February 1 at two locations of transporters (ट्रांसपोर्टर) and power company operators. Following irregularities, the operators have been asked to account for their transactions.</p>
