Subsequent MRI scans revealed a grade one tear, requiring a short period of rehabilitation. Chapman played the best innings of his career in the first match of the series, scoring 132 runs. He will now return to Auckland for rehabilitation, aiming to be available for the third and final ODI at Bay Oval on Saturday.

Waqf Bill: After a heated debate lasting nearly 12 hours in the Lok Sabha, the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, and the Muslim Waqf (Repeal) Bill, 2024, were passed at 1:56 AM on Thursday. These bills, introduced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, were approved with 288 votes in favour and 232 against. They will now be sent to the Rajya Sabha.



The proposed amendments, numbering approximately 40, to the Waqf Act, 1995 (amended in 2013), aim to modernise the management of Waqf properties, reduce legal disputes, and enhance transparency.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claims of Waqf on 5973 Government Properties</h2>



Disputes over Waqf properties have been frequent across India, leading to legal battles and community concerns. The government stated that, according to September 2024 data, 5973 government properties have been declared as Waqf properties by Waqf Boards in 25 states and union territories. The central government has consistently received complaints regarding this issue.

2- Significant Portion of Mosques: Approximately 1,19,200 Waqf properties are mosques, accounting for 14% of the total. This includes plots (64,724), Ashurkhana (17,719), Madrasas (14,008), and 1,26,189 other properties.



3- Commercial Establishments: The number of shops and houses under Waqf ownership stands at 1,13,187 and 92,505 respectively, indicating significant economic usage.



4- Agricultural Land Holdings: With 1,40,784 agricultural properties, Waqf land ownership plays a substantial role in the land ownership pattern, representing 16% of the total properties.



5- Religious Sites: Religious sites under Waqf, including Dargahs and Mazars, total 33,492 properties. This also includes plots (64,724), Ashurkhana (17,719), Madrasas (14,008), and 1,26,189 other properties.



6- Uttar Pradesh Holds the Most: Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of Waqf properties (2,32,547), constituting 27% of the national total. Gujarat (39,940), Telangana (45,682), and Kerala (53,282) have the fewest.



7- Other States with Significant Holdings: These include West Bengal (80,480), Punjab (75,965), Tamil Nadu (66,092), and Karnataka (62,830).

&#8211; Tamil Nadu: A farmer in Thiruchenthurai village was unable to sell his land due to the Waqf Board&#8217;s claim on the entire village. He wished to sell his land to fund his daughter&#8217;s wedding. &#8211; Govindpur village, Bihar: Seven families were affected in August 2024 due to the Bihar Sunni Waqf Board&#8217;s claim on the entire village. This case is ongoing in the Patna High Court.



&#8211; Kerala: In September 2024, around 600 Christian families in Ernakulam district protested against the Waqf Board&#8217;s claim on their ancestral land. They appealed to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.



&#8211; Karnataka: In 2024, the Waqf Board designated 15,000 acres of land in Vijayapura as Waqf land, leading to protests from farmers. Disputes also arose in Ballari, Chitradurga, Yadgir, and Dharwad.



&#8211; Uttar Pradesh: Complaints have been raised against alleged corruption and mismanagement by the state Waqf Board.



&#8211; Karnataka (1975 and 2020): 40 Waqf properties were notified, including fields, public spaces, government land, graveyards, lakes, and temples.



&#8211; The Punjab Waqf Board has claimed land belonging to the education department in Patiala.

Good News for Pregnant Women and Malnourished Children: Malnourished children will now receive 25 grams of milk powder five days a week, incorporated into their nutritional supplements. Pregnant women will receive a Supposhan Nutri Kit containing 1 kg of ghee, along with makhana (fox nuts), dates, and other nutritious items. The Women and Child Development Department has begun preparations and submitted the budget proposal to the Finance Department. Officials expect the increased milk powder for children and the kits for pregnant women to be distributed from July.



Currently, the department provides malnourished children with 15 grams of milk powder as part of their nutritional supplements. Last month, the Chief Minister announced an increase of 10 grams, prompting the department to process the necessary paperwork. Upon approval, malnourished children will receive 25 grams of milk powder. Approximately 70,000 malnourished children aged 6 months to 5 years will benefit from this initiative. Officials estimate an annual expenditure of approximately ₹3.5 crore.



Malnourished children will now receive 25 grams of milk powder instead of 15 grams, along with their nutritional supplements. Pregnant women will receive a Supposhan Nutri Kit containing ghee, dates, makhana (fox nuts), and other items. Preparations for this initiative have commenced.

MP News: A sex racket has been busted in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, operating just 800 metres from the Kotwali police station. Police raided the spa centre and apprehended two girls and two boys, who are currently being questioned. Preliminary investigations suggest the centre had been operational for about a year. Police sent an officer undercover as a client; once sex trafficking was confirmed, the raid was conducted.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Seven Days of Surveillance</h2>



Kotwali TI Brijmohan Singh Bhadauria received information about the sex racket operating under the guise of a spa centre. To gather concrete evidence, he deployed officers in plain clothes at various times over seven days to monitor the centre. Once suspicious activities were confirmed, the SP, ASP, and CSP were informed, leading to the raid.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Undercover Officer, ₹3,000 Demand</h2>



An officer from the Kotwali police station was sent undercover to the spa centre located in Anuradha Galli. When the officer spoke to the woman running the centre, she demanded ₹3,000. The money was paid, and the police, who had already surrounded the building, immediately conducted the raid. Two girls and two boys were apprehended from the spa centre, along with objectionable material. One of the girls is from Bhopal and has previously run similar centres in Bhopal.

4 National Highways Approved in MP: Madhya Pradesh has received a gift of four road projects from the central government. &#8211; ₹1535.66 crore has been approved to convert a 43.200 km section from Sandalpur to Nasrullaganj bypass (National Highway-146B) in Bhopal district into a 4-lane highway.



&#8211; ₹731.36 crore has been approved to make a 10.079 km stretch from Rahatgarh to Berkhera (National Highway-146) in Vidisha and Sagar districts into a 4-lane highway.



&#8211; ₹688.31 crore has been approved for the construction of a greenfield 4-lane Sagar Western Bypass (20.193 km) from Lahdara village junction to Berkhera Guru village junction (National Highway-146 to National Highway-44) in Sagar district.



&#8211; The central government has approved ₹1347.6 crore for the construction of a 28.516 km long access-controlled 4-lane bypass in the western part of Gwalior city.

Rising Cyber Fraud



Cyber fraud has increased significantly in India over the past 10-15 years. There has been a 35-45% increase in cases of digital arrests, hacking, threats by impersonating police officers, and siphoning money from bank accounts through emails, SMS, or OTPs. Cyber police stations are registering an average of 5-8 cases daily. In many cases, the cyber police station has helped people. Ajmer. The objections raised against the answer key released by the Rajasthan Secondary Education Board for the State Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) 2024 will be resolved within a fortnight. It is expected that the revised final answer key will be released by April 20. The board administration is trying to release the REET result in the first week of May.



Board Secretary Kailashchand Sharma informed that the study of objections received after the release of the answer key has begun. The board has only conducted the eligibility test. Candidates who pass this will appear in the main REET exam. The main REET exam will be conducted by the Subordinate Staff Selection Board. It is noteworthy that the Rajasthan Secondary Education Board conducted the REET exam on February 27 and 28. Around 14 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in Level 1 and Level 2. Around 5,000 examination centres were set up across the state for the exam.

कोटा. बीई-बीटेक कोर्स में प्रवेश के लिए देश की सबसे बड़ी इंजीनियरिंग प्रवेश परीक्षा के दूसरेे सेशन जेईई मेन-अप्रेल 2025 की शुरुआत बुधवार से हुई। परीक्षा कप्यूटर बेस्ड मोड पर हुई। देश के 304 शहरों के 618 परीक्षा केन्द्रों पर यह परीक्षा हुई।केन्द्रों पर सुबह से ही स्टूडेंट्स की कतार लगी रही। नकलची व डमी अभ्यर्थियों को लेकर एनटीए सत दिखा। स्टूडेंट्स को सत जांच के बाद ही प्रवेश दिया गया।
