PM Modi takes holy dip at Mahakumbh, offers prayers to Sun


<p><strong>PM Modi&#8217;s Mahakumbh Visit:</strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Prayagraj. He was welcomed at Bamrauli Airport by Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi, and both Deputy CMs. Thereafter, the PM took a boat ride on the Arrail VIP Ghat and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. During this time, he was wearing saffron-coloured clothes and had a Rudraksha mala in his hand. He performed Surya Puja, chanting mantras for about 5 minutes. Following this, he also offered prayers to Mother Ganga.</p>

<p>The Prime Minister has once again taken a holy dip in the Mahakumbh after six years. Previously, he had taken a bath in the Ganga during the Kumbh Mela on 24 February 2019 and washed the feet of sanitation workers. In fact, after a gap of 42 years, a Prime Minister had taken a bath in the Sangam. Before this, Indira Gandhi had bathed in the Sangam just before the 1977 elections.</p>

<p>Regarding security around the Prime Minister&#8217;s programmes, the NSG has taken control of the entire area. Along with this, magistrates and a large number of police, PAC, and RAF personnel have been deployed. Security has also been increased at the ghats of the Ganga, and suspicious individuals are being checked from the city to the Kumbh Mela area.</p>

Anna Hazare Slams Kejriwal Amid Delhi Voting, Urges People to Vote for Honest, Selfless Candidates


<p><strong>Anna Hazare on Arvind Kejriwal:</strong> Social activist Anna Hazare launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal amidst the Delhi elections. He appealed to Delhi voters to choose candidates who demonstrate morality and selflessness. The veteran social worker labelled Kejriwal, Delhi&#8217;s former Chief Minister, as self-serving.</p>



<p>Voting for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections is underway today (February 5th). The Delhi elections witness a three-cornered contest between the BJP, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the Congress. With 70 assembly seats and 699 candidates in the fray, 13,766 polling booths have been set up across Delhi for its 1.56 crore voters. Long queues of voters have been observed since morning.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">‘Arvind Kejriwal is Selfish… It Wasn’t Always Like This’</h2>



<p>Amidst the ongoing Delhi elections, social activist Anna Hazare criticised AAP&#8217;s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal. He stated that Kejriwal was initially a good person and had been by his side, but their paths diverged the day Kejriwal became self-serving for his political party. He urged voters to elect candidates with pure morals, ethical thinking, and a life dedicated to selflessness.</p>



<p>Anna Hazare further explained that initially, when Arvind Kejriwal was with him, his intentions were clear. He considered Kejriwal a good activist and kept him close. However, upon forming his party, Hazare distanced himself, concluding that Kejriwal had become self-serving. He initially perceived Kejriwal as a good person with noble intentions, devoid of any political aspirations. However, he now finds Kejriwal&#8217;s stance on alcohol hypocritical.</p>



<p>Hazare added that Kejriwal had participated in their anti-alcohol protests. He now finds it ironic that Kejriwal speaks about alcohol. </p>



<p>With Delhi Assembly elections underway, Anna Hazare appealed to voters to assess a candidate&#8217;s character, morals, and life before casting their vote.</p>

<p><strong>Sant Kaushik</strong><br><strong>Bharatpur:</strong> Approximately 34,000 people go missing in the state every year due to various reasons. This translates to roughly 93 people disappearing daily and an average of 652 people per week. Notably, over 76% of these missing individuals are women. According to the data, between 28 January and 4 February, 650 people went missing across the state.</p>



<p>Of these, 494 were women and 156 were men. This includes 111 minors under the age of 18, comprising 90 girls and 21 boys, accounting for approximately 16%. Among the missing persons, 13 were over 60 years old, with 7 men and 6 women.</p>



<p>This data is recorded on the police&#8217;s CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) portal. The figures clearly indicate that 76% of the missing persons are women and 24% are men. This statistic presents a serious challenge to society and the administration. The high number of missing women and children, in particular, poses a significant challenge to the police and administration.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">60-70% of Missing Persons Return</h2>



<p>Bharatpur Range IG Rahul Prakash says that around 60-70% of missing persons return on their own, while the police find some. About 5% of them fall victim to accidents or commit suicide. These bodies are initially found unidentified, but around 3% are later identified. However, 2% remain unidentified.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">60% of Missing Persons are Aged 18-30</h2>



<p>Among missing women, 60% are aged between 18 and 30 years, often running away from home due to romantic relationships. 90% of these women are found after some time. The remaining 10% become victims of suicide or accidents. According to the report, elderly individuals often leave home or go missing due to feeling burdened by children.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reasons for Missing Persons</h2>



<ul>
<li>Women go missing due to domestic violence, family disputes, mental stress, romantic relationships, dowry, and human trafficking.</li>



<li>Children leave home due to academic pressure, social media influence, abduction and trafficking, family conflicts, and parental divorce.</li>



<li>Elderly individuals go missing due to mental stress, family neglect, dementia, financial reasons, and mental illnesses.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No One Goes Missing Without Reason</h2>



<p>Domestic issues are primarily responsible for women going missing. Children are leaving home due to academic pressure, the negative effects of social media, and romantic relationships. Elderly individuals face existential threats within their own families, leading to mental stress. <p>The popular and ambitious &#8216;Ladli Behna Yojana&#8217; in Madhya Pradesh, which transfers ₹1250 to beneficiary women&#8217;s accounts monthly, has dealt a blow to thousands of women. The 21st installment is due shortly, but thousands have been removed from the scheme in recent times. In January alone, 3,576 women were excluded.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reasons for Exclusion</h2>



<p>A significant number of women were removed from the scheme in January 2025 because they had crossed the age of 60. The age mentioned on their Aadhaar cards was the determining factor. Consequently, many women who turned 60 in January were dropped. This resulted in the non-transfer of funds to their accounts. If your documents also show you are over 60, you may have been included in the list of ineligible women.</p>

<p>The Shri Balaji Temple, also known as the Khatu Shyam Temple, is located in Singahi Khurd, Lakhimpur Kheri. This temple is also famous as the Lal Langoti Hanuman Temple. Excavations were underway to install a statue of Khatu Shyam when some strange sounds were heard. What was subsequently discovered was astonishing.</p>

<p>Following the sounds, a small brass box was unearthed. Inside the box were brass statues of Ram Darbar, Hanuman, and other deities. Additionally, a trident, a silver statue of Balaji, five maces, five Saligrams, ancient coins, and other items were found. Statues of Ram Darbar, Lakshmi, Ganesha, and Durga were also present in the box.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police arrive at the scene</h2>



<p>News of the discovery spread quickly, drawing a large crowd to the temple to view the statues. Upon receiving information, the police also arrived at the scene. The police secured the ancient coins and statues found in the ground, placing them under the supervision of the temple priest. Servesh Mishra, the temple priest, stated that the statues and coins appear quite old, generating considerable excitement and curiosity among the people.</p>


<p>During the excavation of the Khaṭū Shyām and Lāl Laṅgoṭī Hanuman temples near the Shrī Bālāji temple complex in Singāhi Khurd, Lakhimpur Kheri, an unusual sound was initially heard. Subsequently, a discovery was unearthed that left onlookers astonished.</p>
